Definitely good music to fall asleep to. Nice and mellow. Can't wait to see if this song is used for the album.

I think this band will be an amazing opening act for Matt Good (and his band). Straight up rock and roll with some alternative roots, but nonetheless, a highly energic and overall fun band to see. (Yes, I have seen them PLENTY of times). I know some people are upset that there is no Ottawa show announced, and Kingston/Belleville/Peterborough just seems too far away for some to justify the trip, but I know I will be making the treck from Ottawa to see one of those shows to see Matt's "new band", and to see James McKenty and the Spades on the big stage!

Best series ever. Well not best, but certainly a good show. I 'saw' a release of Bender's Big Score, and I think it nicely ties up some loose ends, and contributes to the series in a great way. I can't wait to see the other 3 movies/12 episodes that they have planned. One big plus too, is that all the voices remain the same. Nothing would have been worse than a certain voice role not being filled by the person who did it originally while the series was still in production.

I go with Batman for the sheer reason that he doesn't have any superpowers, but still is amazing. His reflexes, amazing mind and skills are all he used, but they got the job done. His one weakness is that he is mortal, but Superman has kryptonite as a weakness, and I think Batman always used to carry some around. Batman ftw!

I find Canada not too different from the United States, at least physically, as other people have mentioned, but I find that there is a difference between Canadian and American people. Also, I find that this difference is slowly diminishing, something that many Canadians fear. I do feel that most Canadians are more polite and friendly than their American counterparts, but I also find that with each generation, there is growing apathy towards Canadian values. Hell, Canada is a land of compromise, unfortunately. From the Alaskan Boundary Dispute to the 'Holiday' Tree debacle of the past few years, it really is only a matter of time before Canada succumbs to all US pressure, and then it will be clearly evident how alike both places have become.

Lyrics Of The Moment

And the wars, will be over and done. Flowers planted in guns, as if the hippies won. And we'll make no Earthly possessions, See the future in, our little ones. -
I think that perhaps it is the officers who need more training on the matter. The man was deprived of food and water for 10 hours. Hell, the whole incident felt very American to me. It was the whole, shoot first and ask questions later mentality. So, in order to rectify this, why not better educate the officers using tasers.

Kinda crummy that they had to pull out early, for what seemed to be a questionable reason, but they seemed like they had at least a decent stage presence, and will probably play folk shows all over. Almost sound like Jill Barber, just a lot less Eastern-Canada flavour.

I am rereading The Catcher In The Rye for the 10th time. I honestly think that every teenager should read this book, as I find it's message stands true through time.

A pepperoni calzone. So greasy, yet so good!

Greatest Song Ever
Kenwell replied to sodamntired's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb. I don't know why, but that song just seems so perfect. Like when it goes, "It's just a little pin-prick..." and you can hear a little orchestral chime...just amazing. -
Definately go to the Pour House for free music on the weekend, and some awesome beer on tap. When I don't go out though, I sleep and chill with my roommates on our balcony playing guitar.

The Prestige definately looks like an awesome movie. It seems like the premise is that one magician is the devil or something...I will definately be awaiting this one!

Sarah Mclachlan

I personally think that she has one of the most beautiful female voices of the present day. While I tend to gravitate towards her older stuff, around the Surfacing album, her newer songs are nothing to shrug at either. As for a Christmas album, I assume that she will include her collaboration with BNL doing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. -
Best Grunge Singer
Kenwell replied to Audio of Being's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I voted for Layne Staley basically because of how good Alice in Chains were. Dirt, Jar of Flies, Sap, and their MTV Unplugged albums show how deep the band really was. It is a shame that Layne died the way he did, but I guess that is just the course of nature for Grunge bands. -
Favorite Live Album?

Rock Spectacle is such an amazing album. Hell Freezes Over by The Eagles isn't too bad either. -
I think I might be able to dig up the Silent Narcotic MGB Megamix he made a while ago. Wish Me Luck!

One thing about Global Warming has always intrigued me. While taking a highschool Geology class, we learned about something called the Gaia Theory. It is a simple theory that basically states the Earth is a living organism, and major disasters, catastrophic weather and disease are ways that the Earth purges itself from damage. At the same time, the Earth can modify its surface temperature over time, this producing a new evolution, or another link to survival of the most fit. Originally the Earth was full of carbon dioxide, but ocean plants sprouted and began to take in that CO2 and create Oxygen. So, in my opinion, it is mind blowing to see that we have missused the Earth for so long that it is finally striking back in a way that WILL seriously cripple much of its inhabitants.

Matt is my favourite musician because throughout his career he has remained true to the fans. He has such an intellectual type of music, that still provides enough rock-a-bility to get a crowd swinging, or enough heart and soul to bring tears to listeners eyes. I have witnessed tears while I saw him on the Avalanche tour over 2 years ago at the Kool Haus. Apparitions came on, and a sea of lighters, and tears came around. That to me makes him my favourite. Making great music, and evoking emotions from those listening. I could not ask for more, but he keeps giving.

In A Coma is absolutely astounding. The greatest hits package could have a few more songs for my liking, like All Together, but everything flows really nicely, and the Acoustic reworkings are brilliant. I almost find them better than the originals. It's so beautiful to hear a reworking of your favourite song that puts a new spin on it, but still captures the soul that you fell in love with first. The DVD? Chock full of extras! If you don't have this yet, please, do yourself a massive favour and go out and grab it!
