  1. Love Metallica (well, anything up to and including The Black Album). Something about this video just scares the shit out of me. Soul Asylum - Runaway Train
  2. For whatever reason I liked Orgy's "Fiction (Dreams in Digital)" a lot more than Blue Monday. Maybe it was because of how overplayed Blue Monday got. Crash Test Dummies - Superman's Song
  3. Love that Men Without Hats song! Something about the sax in it always gets me. Mad Season - River of Deceit
  4. Loved Everclear! That song still gets a smile out of me if it comes on random. Everlast - What It's Like
  5. The rip of the album that I have is a transcode, which sucks because I really want to hear it. I guess the days of Around the Fur and White Pony are gone, but I still really enjoy the band.
  6. I never really got Fatboy Slim. Maybe I was too young then, now I don't care. Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead
  7. Lately I've been reading Johnny The Homicidal Maniac Arhkam Asylum - A Serious House on Serious Earth Arkham Asylum - Living Hell Batman: The Killing Joke
  8. Overplayed, and overrated but everyone still knows all the words. Still makes people feel warm and fuzzy inside. Matt Mays - Cocaine Cowgirl
  9. For some reason, I really like the greasy intro hook to Limelight. I guess for me, this is one of the most bearable Rush songs. I also lived in room 2112 at University, so I give this song my stamp of approval. Going back to Len for a second, I love how that song sampled Andrea True Connection's "More, More, More" 3 Doors Down - Kryptonite
  10. Everybody knows the words to it when it comes on the radio at work, but I don't think it's stood the test of time well. I think I only hear it now, when the station gets tired of playing the Hip as their Can-con provider, or on random all-request lunch hours. Third Eye Blind - Semi-Charmed Life
  11. Emily Haines - Nothing and Nowhere
  12. I grew up on a lot of classic rock, and early rock. I have fond memories of sitting in my basement, listening to Born To Run with my parents. Good times =) What is your most valuable musical item? This can be literally and/or sentimental.
  13. Neil Young - Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
  14. Collective Soul - Smashing Young Man
  15. The Smashing Pumpkins - Tales of a Scorched Earth
  16. Matthew Good Band - The Workers Sing A Song Of Mass Production
  17. Matthew and Jill Barber are easily my favourite up and coming Canadian indie artists. I guess they are more mainstream now, but both of them have amazing catalogues of music. Off of his recent release, True Believer, comes Matt Barber's song Revolution Of The Sun. There's something amazing about seeing just a musician and a piano, and the way that his image reflects off of it is unbelievable. I hope that you enjoy this song if you take a listen to it.
  18. I just re-watched all of the Naked Gun movies. I forgot how hilarious I find them. My friend loaned me Pool Hall Junkies, so that will be on my viewing list tonight or tomorrow.
  19. Rilo Kiley - Teenage Love Song
  20. James McKenty and the Spades - Ghosts In The Machine
  21. I figure I might as well join. $25 is like not buying pizza one Friday night for myself and my roommates. I think I can handle one night of eating toast if it means exclusive access to Matt and his work.
  22. I just finished Vonnegut's "Welcome to the Monkey House" collection of short stories. Something about his writing style, satire and science-fiction lets me really enjoy everything he writes. I just picked up Richler's "The Apprenticeship Of Duddy Kravitz" which my dad recommended that I read, as he read it when he was around my age.
  23. I've worked in the food industry all my life, moving from dishwasher to server to cook to manager, but I'm in school for Communications. I hope to get a job somewhere in Communication planning (ie planning big events and such), or Public Relations. Living in Ottawa gives me a lot of job options, but it's about time that I made an opportunity for myself. If all else fails, I'll go into politics, or get my masters and see where life takes me after that.
  24. About 4 months ago. It was one of those blind dates where you have a friend who says, "Man, she'll be perfect for you. You are single, she's single, it's going to work!" It definitely didn't work. What is your favourite drink (alcoholic or nonalcoholic)?
