I love them. they are amazing live and are my second favorite band. I'll never understand why so many people hate them. they have good writing and (for the most part) some very good messages (tossed in with the humor) Anyway, I picked self titled. though I love them ALL a great deal (even though they have changed a lot) s/t just had a more intense feel to it.

Matt Good is amazing! gets right to the point and tells those tools that sit in front of the TV watching Much music for hours on end just what they need to hear. But I doubt any of it soaked in.

Sales does not a good record make. You can't say that every album that sells well is a great album. Look at BSB or any of those other fads that sold HUGE amounts of records, are you telling me that they are good albums? How about Elton John's Candle In The Wind? that single sold MILLIONS of copies solely because it was recorded for Princess Di. Does that make it great? I hardly think so. more like opportunistic.

Best rock radio station, Power 97 here in Winnipeg. They play Matt Good often (I usually hear 3 different songs during a work day) and not only his new stuff. Symbolistic White Walls, Haven't Slept In Years, Everything Is Automatic, all of these are played more often than any of his newer stuff. They REFUSE to play Coldplay because "Coldplay is not rock" and even though they do play Weezer (and the shit that is Nickelback) they good MORE THAN out weighs the bad. They hold a yearly contest for local bands to get some airplay and they promote the bands VERY heavily. they also release a CD featuring the winning bands and donate the proceded to the childrens hospital. plus, they hold "Studio 97 sessions" where they get bands that are coming through to come in and play a (mostly) acoustic set. it's awesome. sorry, just bragging because all of you hate your local radio stations. Anyway, I disagree with a few of thos albums being there: 2 Green Day - American Idiot 4 Green Day - Dookie 6 Velvet Revolver - Contraband 9 Billy Talent - Billy Talent 18 Sum 41 - Does This Look Infected? those 5 albums do not belong in the top 99 (let alone the top 20) I'd hate to have to deal with that radio station.

I don't even know if it's the whole cocky thing that bugs me. I am by no means anti-american (I'm not anti anyone as I believe all people are equal) but I am irritated with how the american media portrays Canadians. people are so misunderstood. I saw on the daily show a few weeks back a report about minute men guarding the northern border from Canadians that want to jump into the states and bring along their diseases (such as leperosy)I'd be more likely to be more respectful towards americans if everytime I'm in a chat room I didn't have to deal with "so your canadian? whats that all aboot?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA LOLOLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"

I got mine from a store here in Winnipeg called "Wild Planet" I just saw a bit of it peaking out from behing a Kiss biography or some shit. I actually jumped over the counter and grabbed it and jumped back to the other side before anyone that worked there noticed me. I bought it, got about 1/4 of the way into it then lost my motivation (same things happened with John Stewart's America: The Book)

I used to do this often with Radiohead's Kid A. Fuck, that is one relaxing album.

at the second night of the acoustic tour here someone requested I, The Throw Away. he started playing and couldn't remember the words and was just like "fuck it" Anyway, I'd KILL to Flight Recorder From Viking 7. when he and Melissa were here, I looked at my friend (as everyone was calling for an encore) and I was like "wouldn't it kick ass if he and Melissa did a duet of Flight Recorder?" then when they came out I almost shit my pants... then they started playing hurt and I was really excited... until I realized it was a cover of JC's cover. but still... Flight Recorder.
