you obviously didn't read my first paragraph. i have to say anton, i'm a bit offended.

you should just inherit the ratings waiver application method. in a case where you weren't in a clear frame of mind to be making a ratings decision, you can apply to have your selection (and subsequent activity) waived due to the consumption of a controlled substance. it's not a get out of jail free card, persey, because it has to be brought before a tribunal of friends who were present during the event in question and the perpetrator obviously has to have rescinded their decision either based on lack of judgement or a clear and consice discrepancy from his counterparts. he can be talked into admitting his rating wasn't sound, or he can admit it freely... either way, some serious razzing is added to the process of an official downgrade. he wont get away easy. like i said, the actual ratings dont really matter, because anything above 0 is acceptable. for example: if you're a 1, you caught my eye, but only because you're not a 0. if you're a two, not only did you catch my eye, but i cruised you. 3 got a cruise and a focus on one area or another. 4 takes 3 a step further with a little bit of a gaze, 5 is the same as 4, with the addition of a second glance at the rest of the package 6 is all of 5 plus you MUST acknowledge her to your buddy 7 is a positive confirmation from your buddy, with an 8, you'll get an instant feeling of threat that you may have just given your find away to your buddy 9 is everything i've mentioned plus you're starting to fantasize and 10.... well, 10 is your wildest dreams, my friend. and it does exist.

any number on this scale lower than zero holds the same value as zero. alternately, the higher your number on the positive side, the better. that's why good looking people are exponentially more valuable than ugly people.

if "good" is one or more and "bad" is 0 or less, i would consider negative attention to bad and thus 0 attention. 0 being none/never. i'm a calculated man.
