  1. at least i'm not the only one.
  2. rockford used to be good. they suck now. ever since their plant moved from orgeon to china... suprise suprise... quality dropped. since you own a truck, space IS limited. your best bet would be to *find someone who wants your bestbuy credit and to sell it to them. then take that money, go to a car stereo shop and buy the pioneer premier TS-SW124D sub, or the kaption flat-10. the pioneer is 4" deep and the kaption is 3.8" so they're perfect for a truck.. and suprisingly they put out unreal bass. mount it in a truck (shallow) sub-box and BAM... or should i say BOOM. my ex had a dodge dakota with NO space and for her birthday got her the TS-SW124D paired with a MRDM1001 amp from apline. of course the bigger the amp the better but they had that sub paired up with some 240W clarion when i demoed it at the shop and it sounded great. the kaption seems like its a better sub, but being that i'm from vancouver, they're hard to find as kaption is just recently expanding from ontario (that and the kaption sub lists at $350) *the reason why i say sell the the best buy credit is because im pretty sure they dont carry pioneer premier, as that line is usually saved for independant retailers. also, ask some local car stereo shops if they'll accept the best buy credit as payment, if they're a decent shop they will because they love nothing more than stealing business from the big box stores (and in turn they can use that credit for store stuff like office supplies or demo discs, etc.). my buddy had a couple hundred dollars in a&b sound credits and AVU in Vancouver took it as payment.
  3. it was reased as a single not long after alert status red. i thought it was released after It's been Awhile didn't do so well I think they were both released at the same time because they knew one would get good airtime on more easy listening type stations and one would do well on more rock-ish stations. That's how I remember it anyway. makes sense, and considering the time frame in which i heard them on the radio was so close together, it's probably true.

  15. that interlude makes that recording stands as the best live song i've ever heard.... i love the part where the guy in the crowd says "now this is fucking rock"
  16. the first verse on 199 is matt, the rest is other vancouver artists for a 99.3the fox promo
  17. to add to the previous posts... jack is rodney's nickname for matt and merle is matt's nickname for rodney. rodney is a good friend of matt and rich. i don't know if any of you recall, but while the matt was in the early stages of developing avalanche, rich had a "spiritual advisor"... that was rodney. jack and merle was matt and rodney doing what was said a few posts prior. bon tempo was matt rich and rodney using up extra studio time with synths and voice filters... apparently it had quite the following with the early hardcore mgb fans, and then rumor says some "sexual harassment" accusations surfaced between the three guys and a female fan and they shut the 'project' down. ryan dahle is a local vancouver musician who formerly fronted age of electric, while his brother kurt kept time on the drums. he then formed limblifter and they disappeared off the map, but then kept his bassist from that band and hired ian browne as the drummer to form alarmbell, although the opened for the last two shows of matt's first solo tour in vancouver, they didnt last too long together and ryan reformed limblifter with megan bradfield, dave paterson and brent follet... the same group who toured with matt during the put out your lights tour. both ryan dahle and megan bradfield are credited for production on 'oh be joyful'... and the three of them plus pat steward performed some shows together around the lower mainland of vancouver in late spring.

  20. you know something, i sorta feel gay when i listen to their music too (by myself, of course), but i'll tell you something else.... i went to see them play in auburn washington with my girlfriend in the summer (coldplay fan) and it was BY FAR the best live show we've ever seen... and we've seen LOTS of big name acts live. when i was in highschool i got parachutes for my birthday from one of my friends, i listened to 'yellow' a few times and never touched the disc again until i saw them in auburn. the day i got home i bought x&y, which i rarely listen to, and a couple dvds (which get more playtime in my car and home than anything i own)
