Awesome transcription. I'm pretty sure the golden calf line is right, as he mentioned it one of his jackpillowhead poems a while back. EDIT: Also: I completly agree.

Okkervil River has some awesome artwork

28 Days Later is a horror film. Though when i think horror, my mind immediatly jumps to slasher flicks. That being said, Halloween 1 and Halloween H20 are easily the scariest.

Fairuza Balk. But i think that just might be, because i think she's a fox.

Kevin Smith sucks teh ballz. He's easily the most overhyped director still alive today. Clerks was too one-dimensionally retarded, Dogma was decent but too overt most of the time, Chasing Amy was probably one of the biggest pieces of shit i'll ever watch in my life, and ditto for Jersey Girl. The others i haven't seen, though Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back doesn't look any better.

i havent watched the show religiously till the second season, and have only see a few scattered episodes in the first season so there's one thing that confuses me: How come Locke (the religious guy) can't walk when he gets onto the plane, but down on the island he's perfectly fine again? What up wit dat?

Even though i was born and raised in ottawa, i dont hold much allegiance with the sens or any team for that matter (except maybe edmonton.) But i gotta admit, they've got a potential stanley cup lineup this year. They could do it. P.S. Wtf is up with the eyes of the Leafs coach? Seriously.

Never tried them. I think the concept is stupid. I agree with Distabulistic on Dr.Pepper as well. That shit's disgusting. Have you ever had lice?

Reader Rabbit did. He's been saying it for 15 years. But did any of you listen? No. You bastards were just in it for the fun and games. Well listen up small fries, reading isn't "fun." It's a vicious neverending battle against illiteracy. And if we don't kick it in the ass we're never going to be able to ride the Reading Railroad to freedom.

No More Tea Party

I can't stand the Tea Party. I can't even listen to them long enough to deduce whether they full out suck, or whether its just a matter of personal taste. -
The LotR movies are what happens when people are willing to spend an abnormal amount of money to make a faithful adaptation. There are no new ideas or themes really being presented. In fact, if anything there are less then the novel. The Matrix trilogy creates an entirly new world as opposed to trying to illustrate one already described in text.

I put them in the same order as AoB

He was amazing in the NBC tv show "Scrubs." But everything else he touches is made that much worse simpyl by showing his face on screen.

You're is a contraction for you are. YOUR sentence would read without the apostrophe "I think you are mom is calling you, time for you are bedtime snack" Now unless you meant to call him a cannibal mother, i think you're going to have to concede the stupidity point here.

My Name Is Earl
static replied to The_Rat_Who_Would_be_King's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
Saw the first episode (burned) the other day. It was good. But just not great. I'm kind of confused as to why Jason Lee chose THIS show above any others to make his TV debut in. I enjoy watching it but its nothing really special. -
Answer hazy. Ask again later. What was the purpose of the "pet rock" idea?

You are all perfectly within your rights to be assholes. Unfortunatly there's nothing anyone can do about that.

I'm pretty sure i'm going to plan doing something like this every weekend.

I like the irony that drugs and running can both be ways of trying to escape from something (i.e. exam.) But study so you don't fail. Seriously. Or go smoke some pot. Whatever. What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
-
I've never agreed more with anyone on this board about something. Ever. You ripped out all my thoughts.

Scarlett Johansson (despite her sometimes shitty choice in roles), Julianne Moore, Bill Murray, Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp, and Woody Allen.
-
The part near the end where frodo says "I'm glad to be with you Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things" gets me. That's one of my favorite lines.

I was reffering to the entire series. I agree with you about the acting and cheap dialogue, but as a concept series it is absolutly revolutionary. It's the most brilliant blend i've seen so far of art and entertainment, which is what it set out to do. I still have trouble wrapping my head around all of the philosophies presented in the series. I'm nowhere near saying its flawless or perfect or anything of the sort. I'm not even saying they're my favorite movies. But they are the first movies i have ever seen that can work without any thought from the viewer, but on a different level fascinate the critical viewer with its thematic lines and personal philiosophies.
