  1. Nietzche is dead.
  2. I do not like them, Sam I am. What's the weirdest thing you put ketchup on?
  3. Lately, it's all about "Dynamic Calories" by Stephen Malkmus.
  4. The Beatles - I'll Follow the Sun
  5. So, the whole article went on about what the Green Party isn't, but not much about what they actually do stand for. But they seemingly have the votes of the yuppies.
  6. Well he's still capable even though he's getting on in years. Still plays, he did the whole hurricane benefit deal and the Cream reunion thing. yeah, but what's he done recently? Everything he's known for happened years ago, so I wouldn't rate him current. Well I haven't been keeping up with specifics of his activities, but I know his "Back Home" album came out only months ago in late August of 2005. "Me and Mr. Johnson" came out in 2004, although it's a cover album really. "Reptile" came out in 2001. But does anyone really care? He just isn't relevant anymore. It's like the Rolling Stones. They just released a new album, and I hear it's not half-bad, but really, when you get the urge to listen to the Stones, do you throw on A Bigger Bang or Exile on Main Street? Well I still care for one, or I wouldn't have bothered trying to make the point. But in the context of current guitar players.... Maybe I should have asked "who is the best guitar player of this decade?". I was trying to avoid the standard cliche of Clapton, Hendrix, and Page because then it wouldn't be terribly interesting. They've recieved their accolades, it's time to move on and shine light on the next generation.
  7. 1. Agrophobe 2. Euphony 3. Every Name is My Name 4. Native Son 5. Man of Action 6. Fall of Man 7. Born to Kill 8. Change of Season 9. Fated
  8. I sure as hell wouldn't pay money to see it. This is the epitome of a rental movie.

  10. But why can't a music forum be more than that? Music news, music discussion, etc. And my Strokes post had newsworthiness. It leaked that day. I wasn't just saying "Know who's cool? The Strokes."

  12. Really? I've never seen them live, but I know a few friends who have and they didn't care for them.
  13. ha. exactly. also, didn't you start this one? http://www.nearfantastica.com/bored/index.php?showtopic=6092 That was different (kinda). I was just passing along a song that had leaked that day. I didn't post a biography of the Strokes and multiple songs.
  14. Here's my top 5. 1.Johnny Greenwood 2.Graham Coxon 3.Thurson Moore 4.Stephen Malkmus 5.Ted Leo I just realized that a lot of the new bands I've been listening to have no real guitar players on their sides.
  15. Canadian Content. 35% of music on radio must be Canadian. Thus, a lot of bands like The Trews get airtime only because they're Canadian.
  16. OMG HAVE YOU HEARD THIS BAND??? HERE ARE SOME LINKS!!! (repeat x50) Are we this incapable of actual musical discussion? Just once I'd like to see topics that aren't just pimping your favourite band.
  17. There's 5 now. It's leaking faster than a New Orleans levee.
  18. A band that only exists thanks to CanCon.
  19. Mandatory costume parties suck. I just want to drink and have a good time, not spend money on something I'll wear once.
  20. you're not funny ;) oh come on i'm just goofing around Don't mess with Texas.
  21. When I was 10, on this flight to L.A. I asked the stewardess for a pop, and she had no idea whatsoever what I was saying. I asked her about five times before my dad said "He means a soda". And why can't Americans call toques by their real name? Knitted cap? What kind of bullshit is that?
  22. Hahaha. ;) I know eh? Alot of the time when I needed a name I just looked around my CD collection for a first or last name. and Geoff Brown? Geoff Lloyd, Ian Brown? Coincidence? I THINK NOT! As for the actual story.... meh. The premise is a bit of a cliche, isn't it? Of course I have no clue where you're going with it, but you haven't grabbed me yet. But a town named Plastic and a school named Lucky? Hit me over the head with your symbols, whydontcha? And I'm trying to put this nicely, but your writing needs practice. It's sloppy, and seems very conversational. It lacks a certain depth, I think.
  23. With jokes like that, you'll be the hit of the school.
  24. Sonic Youth - Unmade Bed
