How many people actually own a copy?

I'm curious to know exactly how rare they are amongst MG fans. You always hear that they're rare....but I still wonder.

If you visit the marketplace forum, you've probably seen that I've listed mine on ebay, if anyone wants one.

Also, how many people have read "at last there is nothing left to say"?

and what did you think?

I read my copy several years ago....I remember there being a few short stories that I particularly enjoyed, but I dont recall off the top of my head. Any favs?

I think I might give it another read sometime soon...so I'd like to hear what others liked.

peace

I have a signed copy. As far a being rare, I don't know. Read "at last there is nothing left to say". One of my favs "wish I could shrink down to the size of Barbie, fuck her, then steal her corvette". Priceless

I remember one of my favourite stories had something to do with hanging around a pool one summer with some friends, finding some guns in the forest.....and then someone ends up getting killed, and I think it was because a girl who someone was in love with got raped.....

ring any bells?

I think I read it as an online manifesto....but im prettyt sure its in the book too

It's called The Ditches On A Long Road Home and is probably my favourite. Debbie parks drowning in Cherry Jello and Magic Goats of Presto Island tie for second.

I have ALTISNTS and the US Black Market Surgery. Am hoping to pick up the Canadian version eventually. I also have the extra booklet that was released for those who got the original printing of ALTIINLTS that didn't include two stories; although I don't have the original printing of the book.

I got the US Black Market Surgery from an Atlantic Records "Street Preacher" back in the day, because she had happened to get two copies in her package. I had Matt sign it for me a few years ago. I also have a 1st edition of ALTINLTS, and the original printing of the booklet, #000294. Oh yes....aren't I cool. ;)

Wow, 80 bucks? I got Black Market Surgery for a dollar at a Rock Sale and Auction a couple of years ago. It was the most surprising thing ever, just out there sitting inn a corner of the table. No one else knew what it was, and I freaked out and snapped it up and payed... a dollar.

I guess I saved some money...

Wow, 80 bucks?

yea, $80 in hindsight is a crazy whack of cash.

whatever, it was in my highly obsessive matt good phase. i already had lo-fi (which i got for free off of a co-worker), and i figured "what the hell?"

bought a signed copy of Black Market Surgery a few years ago. also have ALTINLTS, a second printing, and a numbered pamphlet that's supposed to go along with the first. Unsure of the number though; they're both stored away.

damn, i thought the book MG wrote (ALTISNTS)and had in stores was just the collection of Manifestos. I thought there was only one book. I had no idea he had 2 books and one of the them was an original work like ALTISNTS.

Cool!

my dad picked up bms off ebay for me out of the kindness of his heart a few years ago. i'm in university now and it's at home but i'm fairly sure it's the US edition. i also have the first printing of at last there is nothing left to say, i never bothered to figure out what to do to get the booklet.

I got At Last when it came out, but I was still young, so I couldn't appreciate it then as much as I do now. It really is amazing. I love his quote on music critics (I'm paraphrasing) "If they know so much about what makes a good album, why don't they fucking make one?"
