  1. Wow, 80 bucks? I got Black Market Surgery for a dollar at a Rock Sale and Auction a couple of years ago. It was the most surprising thing ever, just out there sitting inn a corner of the table. No one else knew what it was, and I freaked out and snapped it up and payed... a dollar. I guess I saved some money...
  2. click! Some pictures from last night (Edmonton), quickly photoshopped to be visible... Last night was fantastic. I've seen him play twice before, but this one was the best, by far. It topped both of the other times, in every aspect. Everything (EVERYTHING) was a highlight. I especially liked In a World Called Catastrophe, which is normally a song that I would skip, but last night I absolutely did not want it to end. Fated was, well... wow. I was speechless after that song. Hell, I can't keep naming all the songs I loved, they were all just amazing. Matt seemed to be truly enjoying himself. It looked like he was having a good time up there. The sound was great, the crowd was great, the lighting was... great when it wasn't blinding people. But hey, I'll take the pain for a show like that. running theme of the night: "Don't panic." Fantastic.
  3. i don't know if anyone noticed this, but on his site under the On Tour section, it says: "*Something should be announced soon." so... anyone excited?
  4. wee! it sounds slightly odd, the extra background noises are a tad distracting, and as for the words, um... all i can make out it is "you're gonna get what you deserve" and "black helicopter", and this he slurs. to me. first time listening. but wee!
  5. wow, that's a lot of money. i got mine last december at this rock sale thingy in edmonton. they had one left. it was out on a table, in all it's monkified glory, and i snatched it and did a happy dance. what did i pay, you ask? one dollar. *does the happy dance*
  6. you're amazing. can i buy you flowers and chocolate? 'cause i think i love you. thanks, guy. a lot.

    July 28th Show

i caught it, it was simply brilliant. i could not believe it when he played suburbia. i was floored. i was right up against the bar, front row and centre (if you saw a lighter during a few songs that kept going out, that was me.) then i was floored when he played avalanche, which was just pure beauty. then i was floored once more when he played advertising on police cars. so i was pretty content with the whole thing. and i must say that for some reason, the extended slowed down hello time bomb, which i also heard in october when he played here, is really quite something. i never really enjoyed the song so much as when i first saw him do the whole slow, plaintive thing at the end and with the crowd singing along, simply spectacular. matt rocked out hard too, i had a few friends with me who came along just for me, and they're not the biggest matt good fans (they sang along only to everything is automatic) but they really really liked the show too. they said they really enjoyed his little kicks and stomps. which of course i think everyone does. but not only was the concert great, i also got to meet him and get a picture and an autograph and a little tiny chat, and i couldn't believe it. my friend and i were the last ones let in line for the meet and greet. talk about lucky. anyway. the show was amazing, best concert i've ever been to, and that's saying alot, i've been to quite a few good shows. i may have more pictures later, once i get them developed (stupid one time use...) if i had to sum it up in one word, it would be: WOW.
  10. i've been to plenty of k-days concerts, and i think i can safely say that it will be a shorter set. there is such a ridiculous amount of shit thrown on those stages, i won't be surprised at all if he leaves early... k-days is the worst, because you pay addmission to the fair grounds, and the concert is free. so all the little stupid kids that don't actually give a damn about the artist will be there, throwing shit, just so that they will be able to later say "yo, at k'days, i hit (artist) in the head with a (large, heavy object)". it's usually pretty horrible. i'm gonna go, and if i see any little arms winding up with a wrench, then that little pissant is gonna get that wrench... i dunno. somehwere peainful. but not matt's head...
