i caught it, it was simply brilliant. i could not believe it when he played suburbia. i was floored. i was right up against the bar, front row and centre (if you saw a lighter during a few songs that kept going out, that was me.) then i was floored when he played avalanche, which was just pure beauty. then i was floored once more when he played advertising on police cars. so i was pretty content with the whole thing.
and i must say that for some reason, the extended slowed down hello time bomb, which i also heard in october when he played here, is really quite something. i never really enjoyed the song so much as when i first saw him do the whole slow, plaintive thing at the end and with the crowd singing along, simply spectacular. matt rocked out hard too, i had a few friends with me who came along just for me, and they're not the biggest matt good fans (they sang along only to everything is automatic) but they really really liked the show too. they said they really enjoyed his little kicks and stomps. which of course i think everyone does. but not only was the concert great, i also got to meet him and get a picture and an autograph and a little tiny chat, and i couldn't believe it. my friend and i were the last ones let in line for the meet and greet. talk about lucky.
anyway. the show was amazing, best concert i've ever been to, and that's saying alot, i've been to quite a few good shows. i may have more pictures later, once i get them developed (stupid one time use...) if i had to sum it up in one word, it would be: WOW.
