Are smurfs mammals?

 

They have one female servicing a large group of males; this implies a species that lays eggs.

She'd be in estrus 24/7 if she didn't lay eggs!

 

Then again, Papa Smurf has a beard...

they must be incestuous polygamists, like everyone in Lord of the Rings. that would explain why they're all blue and deformed with sock heads. who wouldn't want to gangbang liv tyler.

I'm not familiar with the smurfs as communists, but I heard a "Klan" analogy years ago.

A bunch of guys wandering around in white caps with a leader who wears a red cap, and the "evil" smurfs were all black.

It traumatized me to think of one of my favorite programs as a child having such a negative conotation, subtle or not.
