Anybody else on the Pilgrim bandwagon yet?

Yes. Fuck. YES. I hate Michael Cera with a bloody passion, but nothing is going to stop me from seeing this movie on opening day.

I will totally cosplay as Knives lol

Hahaha, you would. ;)

I think I've subconsciously avoided Cera movies, last one I saw was Superbad and I don't really recall anything else aside from Arrested Development and the drunk history thing he was in, so I'm pretty open to this one. But from what I've seen in the trailers I see this going either A) he moves a little bit out of his comfort zone and nails it, or B) he plays the same character he always has but the supporting cast picks up the slack. Regardless, I have high hopes and will be finished the books tonight. Hot damn!

The Sorcerer's Apprentice I really enjoyed it

It was a lot better than I thought it would be.

American Splendor - really good I liked how they used an actor for most of it but used the actual interviews with Harvey Pekar and Letterman

The Losers. Surprisingly, not putrid.

Iron Man 2.

A little better than the 1st one.

The Kids Are All Right - pretty good, interesting concept

Watched American Splendor and Blade Runner this weekend. Splendor was good but I found I could be easily distracted by it, though I do like Paul Giamatti. Blade Runner was great, but I'd like to find a version with the voiceover narration to see the difference (watched the '07 final/directors cut). Amazing visuals to boot too.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I love the books and the movie followed the book pretty well and it wasn't dubbed which makes it all that much better.

Random remembering stuff: When I lived in Calgary I went to see Pan's Labrynth at a theatre downtown (not Eaux Claire) and I was so happy that it wasn't dubbed. I love that movie. I wish I could watch it now but it's packed up because I'm moving to another part of Deadmonfuck.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - insanely paced, very well-cast homage to the books. Not a true send up, but I left the theater smiling. The music was also really well done, great soundtrack.

As above, Scott Pilgrim...

Enjoyed it, laughed a lot. Haven't read the books, so I was a little thrown by how it played, but it was still pretty good.

Watched Inception too. I liked it, but wish that they hadn't left the ending a little bit open.

TMNT II - Secret of the Ooze - somehow never watched this before all the way through (especially since i was a massive Vanilla Ice fan back in the day). Pretty good, though not as good as the 1st, but April was hotter in this one: 7.5/10

LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring - a classic. 10/10

Gandhi - love this film, truly inspiring is the life of Gandhi. 10/10

Also been watching some documentaries on the history of rock and roll. "Rock & Roll" by PBS made in 1995 is a 10-part (10, one-hour episodes) tv series. Extremely well done in the first few episodes, but gets bogged down a little in explaining the late 60's. ie: spends an entire episode on "psychedelic" music like the Grateful Dead, while ignoring a bunch of other music. But hits all the big names like Hendrix/Dylan/Doors/Clapton/Rolling Stones. Oddly mentions very little about Hendrix at Woodstock, and doesn't say anything about his Star-Spangled Banner performance.
