Hey, all of you guys should keep bitching about Seriously Serious, and maybe we'll get some more entertainment like "Free Song."

 

Either way, all both the new tracks are great!!

Thanks, but I checked the NF main page (what a concept!) and now I'm caught up. Thanks for the offer though. I've got two of the three songs, and in due time, I'll have the third. This new stuff is pretty fun stuff to listen to.

it is. it's different, but good. A little dry, but i know that has to do with the fact that these tracks have neither been mastered or mixed. Personally, i enjoy them

A little rough around the edges, but I like it. I think we have yet to see the best of Matt Good.

Well, it is a demo. And I agree that the best is yet to come.

I think the demo is the end of the song.

 

I figure that there's another verse that more likely preceeds the verse on the demo.

 

I also figure that the chorus isn't so hectic originally... and that this versions chorus is just an ending version.

 

I dunno.

I think part of the mixed reception of the song is simply that it's different from all his past work. It's just not something I'd have expected coming from Matt Good. Reminds me of 30 Seconds to Mars, oddly enough. But I like it nonetheless--it's a good song.

What's the deal with the "Downloading the Blues" ...

it's confusing me a great deal. Agoraphobe and Seriously serious are great... but the third one is just wacked out.

I doubt very much if it will be released.

 

They were just responding to ppls criticisms of Seriously Serious......

this is something i've been wanting ever since august 2001 when ryan dahle was going to replace dave genn for an mgb show. I'm a huge fan of both Ryan and Matt and am anxiously awaiting a full release. Seriously Serious is a good song, you just need to listen to it respecting someone's evolution.. matt's last three releases have all been so different. it's cool.

I like it... it's really quite a different song, and I like the doubling up on the vocals, and doubling up on the string basses (especially that nice tonal texture on the intro)

 

Plus, the guitar work is really sparse, but intense.
