Oh no! I can't edit the first post anymore. Didn't realize that was gonna happen.

I found more (not necessarily any good mind you. I'm getting neck cramps from watching one of 'em sideways!):

If anyone has any other versions of Great Whales of the Sea please upload them! Definitely my favourite song off Vancouver and it sounds awesome live.

Of course, just to make life difficult, there's also stuff turning up *not* on youtube, for example these two clips from the second Vancouver show (which is the one I was at):

Born Losers - http://www.flickr.com/photos/peter_lu/4096449029/

Empty's Theme Park - http://www.flickr.com/photos/peter_lu/4096522661/

Best sound quality of any recordings from that night I've found yet, and alas these are short little clips only. PLEEEZE MOAR!!!!

(Aside: These were found via here - http://www.flickr.com/groups/thecooperation/pool/ )

Thanks for posting these, anyone get love will tear us apart?

also i wonder if donnie darko being on tv had anything to do with that, hah.

"New Order's on the turntable, we're dancing..." I'd say it's not too much of a stretch that he'd be a Joy Division fan. Speaking of which (!!!!!), there's a new video clip on Youtube so far today, and it's THE BEST YET!!! (IMHO):

Vancouver - Nov 10, 2009

Load Me Up -

(in HD too!)

Bonus video (also from the same night, mis-labeled as Nov 11, I think):

Mother Mother - O My Heart :

Cheers folks!

Thanks for this thread, great idea ;) .

I personally enjoy the stand up comedy and commentary between songs. It's what he does. He'll get to the next song soon enough.

I also enjoy Pearl Jam's performances (even though I've never been to a show, I have a lot of the bootlegs, and how they can play for so long is amazing), but of course that's a different experience than a Matt Good show. Also, Eddie actually does talk quite a bit (at least between encores), but I agree not as much as Matt.

These videos are great. I really love the new stuff live. It's right up there with when I first heard Avalanche stuff live for the first time.

Great Whales is so great live. And that video of On Night Like Tonight from the Vancouver on the 10th is amazing.

For convenience, all the Youtube videos mentioned in this thread (obviously not the flickr ones, alas) have been added to this playlist, which I will continue to maintain, as well as posting new links here as I find them:

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=6C44E92C3871BCD5

They're in chronological order by night, but not sub-sorted in order within any particular show. I'm not quite that ambitious.

So far there's 37 videos in there. Enjoy!

Hey, it's cool you took the time to do that. Looks like you're supersizing ambition to me ;) .

Oh, just wait until I rip all the .flv video files, organize the heck out of 'em, and create a torrent. That's ambitious! ;)

That's the goal isn't it?

I thought he sang a bit of Love Will Tear Us Apart but it's just the riff... either way, sounds awesome and that video of Load Me Up is such great quality.

I like the fact that matt has his banter in his shows, kinda what makes his shows different from other acts i've seen.
