The final demo version of Last Parade runs at 6:20, and "October 24th, 2008 - A track entitled Great Whales Of The Sea is uploaded on Matthew's blog. Like some of his previous works, it was a spor of the moment track and likely written on the spot" has a typo- spor should be spur.

I like Stuart Cameron and the drummer, they were very good on tour. It will be interesting to hear them on the new record and hopefully the next tour also...though an acoustic tour would be even more awesome!

I think Matt has said an acoustic tour for the new album would be pretty much impossible based on the arrangements he's planning.

But you never know.

I'm actually glad to hear that there won't be as much acoustically based stuff this time around. Don't get me wrong, the two acoustic shows I've been to have been amazing, but nothing compares to the energy of a good old fashioned Matthew Good rock show.

As for the strings, there will indeed be real strings used. There will also be those sounds that I have engineered myself to compliment them.

Great to hear there are going to be strings again. They were pretty much my favourite part on Avalanche.

I was listening to the BM version of Born to Kill the other day on full blast and boy does that kick ass. That's probably my favorite Matt Good (Band) song with strings.

No frickin' doubt man that that kicks serious ass. The rest of the song is for sure at least one of my favourites of Matt's band and solo, but damn does that rock fest towards the end add that much more to the song making it my pick for favourite MG song.

I also really like the Lo-Fi B-sides version of the song.

'Tis an exciting time.

I wonder if he still intends to eventually put out that acoustic EP he mentioned once because he feels none of the Vancouver material would fit well in an acoustic tour...

Of course I believe that was before Life in Spite of Itself, which I believe would work quite well for that sort of thing.

I never heard the demo of Silent Army in the Trees, but I always felt that that song should stay acoustic. I really loved the renditions on the acoustic tour.

Is it safe for me to assume this is going to be a full-album release, and not the EP originally intended?

I've been calling for an EP since the days between Avalanche and White Light... I liked the precedent set by the MGB.
