Steak and veggies. A large improvement over the super high quality MRP the semi-g/f bought me.

Tim: I'm liking it a lot more as well. The only thing that pains me is hat friggin` "Deep Water" song. -
That's wonderful. Knowing that a musician/artist is a stand-up person may not increase my appreciation for their artistic endeavors, but it's definitely nice to know, and a very sweet story.

Cool, I'll check them out. Which album should I get? Soup? -

Awww. And is it all thanks to me? I remember I put "Track You Down" on that CD I made you, and I don't think you'd heard of him before that, but I could be wrong... -

All I've heard is the song "No Rain" which I fucking despise. Is that indicative of their sound, or should I check out some of their other stuff? -

A friend and I were arguing the other day about whether Beth Gibbons was more "self loathing" or more "sultry seductress." I was with the former. -

My step dad was reading a volume of Edgar Allen Poe's poems, and writing retorts to them in small rectangular boxes under each one, cutting them out by pressing his pencil hard against the paper. My mom and I were making fun of him, saying that he was staying within the boxes, which signifies an uncreative mind. He said he was responding because Poe took each and every theme and somehow made it "happy." He was turning pages and got to "The Raven," and was about to skip it because of it's length, and my mom and I freaked out, because it's one of Poe's best and most famous, and we made him read it.

What do you guys think of Portishead? I'm a HUGE fan of their first album, Dummy. Their second one is alright, but not fantastic. I just picked up their third album (aptly titled "Third") and it's a different than their old stuff, while still remaining undeniably Portishead on all but a few songs. I think it's probably their weakest record, although Magic Doors is probably in my top 3 songs by them. If you've never listened to Portishead, they are ambient and emotional at the same time. Pick up their first album Dummy, and I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed. Trip hope really isn't my thing, but that album is simply fantastic. Beth Gibbons is pretty much the only female vocalist who can pull of the hardcore self-loathing and actually have me BELIEVE IT. An amazing singer for sure. Edit: Here's a link to Magic Doors, from the new album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMW679qlwrc&feature=related

Offer: Massey Hall Floor Ticket (less Than Face)
Prometheon replied to uglyredhonda's topic in Marketplace
I am extremely interested in this, as I got screwed out of tickets for this show twice. The only issue is that it's already the 13th. Can you guarantee that you can get me the ticket by the show date? Edit: Since you wanted bad beat stories, here's mine: I originally had a ticket, but I was planning on being in Calgary during the cocert. Sadly thaty plan fell through, and I had already gotten rid of my ticket. Then someone else told me she was 80% sure she could get me a ticket, and I guess I just got unlucky with the 20%. -
Wow, Harrison looks amazing there.
