  1. I don't know guys, I was unimpressed. As an action movie, it was fine, but the whole OMG! I'm turning into an alien! thing was insanely predictable. The movie was good, but I feel like it wasn't what I thought I was getting into. The part of the trailer that made me want to see it was the alien negotiations where the people were all "how do your weapons work?" and the aliens were all "please just let us leave." That scene wasn't even in the final movie! I dunno, the reason I dislike DIstrict 9 is because I feel sort of mislead about the whole thing, which leaves me feeling disappointed.
  2. To everyone complaining about the first "movement" that is made by the first three tracks, a similar one existed on Hospital Music with Girl Wedged Under the Front of a Firebird, I'm Not Safer Than a Bank and I'm a Window, but no one seemed to mind that.
  3. I'm listening to the stream right now. It's pretty solid. Us Remains Impossible is highly improved from the demo, and I still am not a fan of TBWCE. Edits as I listen: I think I dig the demo version of "On Nights Like Tonight" better than the album version, but it's still one of my fav tracks on the album. The line "I smile like I used to when you were around" isn't delivered as emotionally as before, and it always stood out to me as one of more heartbreaking lines in Matt's catalogue, and certainly on the album. Volcanoes and changed a fair amount and is fucking awesome. I think I like the Fought to Fight It demo a little better as well, though again it's still awesome. It feels a little too gritty.
  4. Have the old friend drive the dying broad to the hospital, then mack on the girl in the rain, clearly. Best of both worlds? Your friend gets a bit stiffed: having to bail you out twice, but I'm sure after saving your friggin life it won't be too tough to get in a car instead of waiting for the bus, even if he does have to save someone else.
  5. "Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence."
  6. The three songs I posted are off of their album Beacons, but their first release, Swift Feet For Troubling Times is decent as well, though a lot more acoustically-driven. Anyone digging these guys?
  7. I discovered these guys when borntohula put one of their tracks on my CD for the Bored CD exchange, and I've checked them out since then and found that they are AMAZING. Their album "Beacons" is incredible and diverse. Just trying to raise awareness, as I think they're a band a lot of people on here would really really dig. A few tracks:
  8. I thought it was utterly fantastic. The opening scene had me holding my breath with tension, and the movie was well-paced, entertaining throughout, and had some awesome action and dialog. A true Tarantino flick, and probably my second favourite work by him, behind Pulp Fiction.
  9. I got a new HD after my old one fried with all of my music on it. Thankfully I still have my iPod and it's essentially a backup. What I'm looking for is a way to take all of the songs from my iPod and stick them onto the new HD. Any suggestions?
  10. Agreed. Which is a shame, because Blake and Pat are great drummers.
  11. Fantastic track. Edit: the amped up vocals in the second verse are awesome. The added bit of "push" ads a lot to that part of the song.
  12. Intuition.
  13. Adventureland. Not very funny for a rom com, but it held my interest and I really like the girl.
  14. Truthfully Interpol all sounds the same to me. They're not bad by any means, but none of their stuff really leaps out at me.
  15. I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
  16. 10 bucks on Last Parade.
  17. Openin` Up is my fav track on that album, but yeah, Chromeo is the shit.
  18. Of how you can just turn them off? Those bad ideas that feel so soft? Sorry, I had to. I don't really have an epic "this is how I got into Matt Good story." Back in the the day my mom had Limewire and had d/led a few Matt Good tracks she had heard. I distinctly remember Born to Kill, Truffle Pigs, and Heather's Like Sunday. I dug them, bought all of the CDs, became a fiend, and that was that.
  19. I hate moe. because of their completely idiotic band name.
  20. Yeah, the album is very good. Laughing With, Eet, and Genius Next Door are my favourites so far.

    Dreams

I can't remember all of the details, but I was out and madly in love with an old coworker, Meredeth, and I never got around to asking her what happened with her and her old boyfriend. We ended up at this giant party with a lot of teenagers, and my best friend's mom had called us in to figure out what was wrong with this girl. We chased her around the building, with all the partiers freaking out as we did so, Then it turned into some weird Diablo-styled battle against this gigantic monster thing, featuring a Sorcerer, Warrior, and Assassin. We fought it in some back room, which had become a huge, thunderstormy mountainscape. Then we had to run through the sewers and stuff, and somehow my old friend Alex was there too, as well as my friend Amy. We ended up in separate bathroom stalls, using astral projection, but someone had snuck in with her and was tickling her, so she wasn't fighting properly.
