You are correct on both points. This disc is going to blow everyone away. The video for Rabbits (what I've seen of it) is going to be fucking amazing. And the acoustic part... some of the songs are unrecognizable. But in such a good way. I remember hearing it and sitting kinda open mouthed in awe of it. Probably drooling a bit. PTD specifically. My god, and I thought the original was good... Yowza.

I guess I can discuss publicly now. A friend of mine is working on the video. Directing it in a way, as much as one can direct an animated video. Basically he's the guy standing behind everyone with a whip yelling "DRAW FASTER YOU FUCKERS!!" Ive seen some bits. First off, the song its for... perfect. And the accompanying video, amazing. Seriously you guys will LOVE it. LOVE it. I can't wait to see a more finished product.

I love this band. There's something so incredibly catchy about them, and I can't stop myself from listening to their goddamn cd. And this is just my opinion, but I think the whole cd is fantastic from start to finish. Funny story though, I didn't like them at first. I heard Somebody Told Me on the radio and I was all like, "ew... that's... not good. very disco, very bad 80's." But I was listening to some British station online and they played "All These Things That I've Done" and I thought to myself, "Holy fuck! Who is this? Its insane! LOVE IT! Same band. I couldn't believe it. Somehow I ended up with tickets to see em live for some pre-record release thing and was just amazed. Fucking fantastic! I got the record as soon as it came out, and have since been in love with it. It barely ever leaves the cd player in my car. (And Somebody Told me did eventually grow on me, though it is still my least favourite song on the album)

Indeed, it is authentic. I know, cos I have one.

Holy crap yes! I just saw it on the Documentary Channel the other week. Yeah I'm a nerd and I watch the Documentary Channel. Wanna fight about it? Anyway, fucking right, Dig! was just amazing. As soon as I have a bit of extra money I will more than likely go out and purchase it. So good.

It would take me too long to write it all out, but I've seen MGB/MG either 22 or 23 times. I can't remember.

Buy The New Beck Cd
umboula replied to wmarskell's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I've been all over that new Beck cd. I play it at work all the time. Holy god its awesome. But then again, I'm of the mind that Beck is a goddamn genius anyway... so I'm probably biased. -
It was recorded in Toronto at the book reading for At Last There is Nothing Left to Say at this place called Barcode on College St. on Sept 25, 2001. (I only know this cos my ex-boyfriend recorded it, and that was my 19 birthday and also the day of the infamous beets incident). PS: It cuts off cos we recorded it on a shitty tape recorder and ran out of tape...

Books are such a personal taste thing. They are much like music in that respect. Anyone can be interested in anything really. I work in a bookstore and you would be amazed at what people read. The variety in taste just one single customer can have. Looking at my own shelf, I personally have Douglad Coupland, Kurt Vonnegut, Robertson Davies, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Herman Melville, Harper Lee, Micheal Moore, George Orwell, JK Rowling, JRR Tolkien, Jose Saramago, Chuck Palahniuk, Douglas Adams, Leo Tolstoy... to name a few of the hundreds of books. They way I see it, as long as you are reading, who gives a shit really. Read trashy romance books? Read the classics? Read kids books? Sci-fi/Fantasy? Math? Science? Politics? At least you're reading something. (PS: I am greatly excited for the release of the new Harry Potter book. I've already got mine on order.) -
I rented it last year. Holy motherfucking hell was it awesome!

SOO funny. Absolutely hilarious. One of the best movies of last yeat for sure!

Which Pop/punk Band Sucks More?
umboula replied to Berserkgatsu's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Good Charlotte is by far the worst. And lucky me, last year I got to take my little sister to their show. I sat there the whole time thinking about killing myself, it was horrendous. All the kids there looked like Good Charlotte, and they were all 12. Ugh. It hurt so bad. It was soooo bad. It was the worst thing that ever happened to my ears. I was hoping to go deaf, would have been a blessing. Ugh. -
I drive a white 4 door 2001 Ford Focus sedan. It wasn't too much money, and was way better than the heap I was driving before. I like it, despite the fact that its a granny car.
