  1. Ha! I feel like such a consumer whore, and it tears me up inside!
  2. Survival in Auschwitz by Primo Levy for a class. But I have The Red Tent by Anita Diamant for a plane trip, and I just finished Down to This: Spledour and Squalor in a Big City Shanty Town by Shaunessey Bishop-Stall. Its about Toronto's Tent City, and it was amazing.
  3. I don't prefer either colour, but I have the black one. Ooooooh, aaaaaaaah.
  4. I think that was the point. The sadness of it all, in how they ruined their lives for nothing really. Trainspotting was a different kind of movie. With Requiem I think the whole idea was to show the downside, and show that no matter what the intentions, and no matter what is said... some people just don't kick the habits and get better, get off it. Some people remian fucked up. Some people die. Some people just never stop. I think it was a beautiful movie and a sad movie. One of my favourites for sure, but one that I need to be in the proper mood to watch.
  5. How about Harold and Kumar go to White Castle? I saw it on the movie channel one night with my cousin, and it was actually hilarious. Infact, I like it.
  6. If, for Christmas, someone were to give me $5000.00 so I can finish off the year at school and afford my rent and some food and shit, that'd be awesome.
  7. Good on em. Sellout is such a shit term. Sometimes you need to eat, and if you get a good contract you can maintain musical integrity and afford rent too! Major label doesn't always = Good Charlotte. It means more money for recording, more money for videos, and more money for SHOWS. This is a good thing, methinks. And really... is it gonna change how the Decemberists sound? No.
  8. Even in the past they had music that sucked, and was contrived pop music. Its not just confined to our generation. That being said, I stay away from whats on the radio because Simple Plan makes me sick to my stomach.
  9. Indiana Jones... could be good. All three of those movies were awesome. Its hard to fuck that up though. Rocky 61, does not need to be made. The first 60 were bad enough. Terminator 4, why? 1 was good, 2 was fucking retarded awesome, 3 looked good on the surface, but was a shitty film. X3 I saw the trailer fr and almost creamed my pants. Looks fucking awesome. X2 was wicked. Pirates of the Carribean, Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow again, how bad can it be? That is all.
  10. Who would pay 500 or 600 dollars for that? Ugh. If you need to have one for whatever reason, wait until the PS3 comes out and buy that instead. They rushed the 360 out for some reason, and its basically blowing up people's houses and raping their mothers.
  11. Because I am a loser Toronto Maple Leafs fan, living in Vancouver and I like to annoy my friends...
  12. Last I saw in the theatre: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was awesome. Last I aw, period: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. I've seen it a hundred times, and in two languages... but its just so freaking awesome.
  13. I buy my favourite tea at the import store. PG Tips brand Orange Pekoe tea, imported from England (cos the stuff they make in Canada is ass) Or Twinings brand English Breakfast or Stash brand Chai Spice tea, but mostly the Orange Pekoe. Mmm... tea.
  14. I saw it a long time ago, when it was on TV. I bought the set for an ex-boyfriend a whole ago but I never watched it. I'd like to see it again, it was good.
  15. (In no order) Interpol Decemberists The Pixies The Who Bob Seger Pink Floyd David Bowie silverchair Hawksley Workman ... SO GOOD!
  16. Agreed on the Weakerthans and also on Inward Eye. Inward Eye are awesome. Also a band called Quinzy. Very fun. My first night living in Winnipeg the brothers of Inward Eye were the first people I met, and they then introduced me to the very happening local scene in the Peg. Awesome.
  17. The original with Gene Wilder was sooo awesome. I hope this lives up.
  18. Yeah, it was a group of students from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ont. I think they did a fantastic job. I really enjoyed the video. Even though I may be biased cos one of my friends was the animation supervisor. But still. I liked it alot.
  19. It was only just finished and shipped to Universal this week, so unless you know someone who worked on the video... Probably a few people would have seen incomplete versions, but that would be it methinks. From what I was told I don't even think Matt has seen the final final complete version yet. Some of the animation team hasn't seen the final final complete version!
  20. My friend Clinton just made me buy that book. I'm going to start it as soon as I move. I've heard its fantastic.
  21. You need 50,000 sold to get a gold record. 100,000 Platinum.
  22. I worked in a bookstore for 2 years, and I loved every minute of it. As a result, these are some of my favourite books: Life After God or Girlfriend in a Coma - Douglas Coupland (my favourite author ever. EVER!) Lamb - Christopher Moore (the Life of Christ, as told by his best buddy Biff... hilarious) Geek Love - Katherine Dunn (A family intentionally breeds themselves to be carnival sideshows... I want to write the screenplay for this) Out - Natsuo Kirino (Japanese Murder story. Brutal. Couldn't put it down) Brave New World - Aldous Huxley (Hauntingly accurate, and a wee bit unnerving because of it. I read it when I was 9, and have loved books since) House of Leaves - Mark Z. Danielewski (The weirdest freakiest book I have ever read in my life!) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - JRR Tolkein (Need I explain this one?)
  23. As far as I know Should Have Been a Super Villan and Reliance were never recorded, so you wont find em. Sorry. The Rodchester Kings, I'm not too sure about. I'm sure someone somewhere has em... not me though.
  24. Truffle Pigs Tripoli Generation X-Wing Apparitions North American For Life Advertising On Police Cars Hello Time Bomb Strange Days Prime Time Deliverance Those are the acoustic tracks. The rest are just the regular recordings.
  25. Bloc Party - She's Hearing Voices but that's done now, and I've got The Libertines - Vertigo
