  1. hahaha, read page 12. Inescapableus's post might seem a little less random if you do.
  2. I haven't checked out It's Been a While but the sound quality on Weapon sounds fine. As a matter of fact, other than your singer being a tad off key in a couple places, Weapon sounds pretty decent. Really nice job on the rhythm. Mind me asking what kind of mic you recorded with and what kind of guitar was used?
  3. Where do you live?
  4. Wow, thanks. I appreciate the feedback. As far as the intro goes I'm not entirely sure what I'd do to fix it. I would suggest that it might sound a little weird just because everyone is so used to hearing the cd or live versions which both have a kind of dreamy quality the way the lead is played. In mine the tempo of the lead, in both the intro and verses, is sped up a whole lot. That and the length is a bit shorter. Plus there are no cheerleaders. ...I wish I had cheerleaders at my disposal.
  5. New Giant Clip (Just stream low or hi-fi depending on your connection) Revamped version of the beggining I originally threw up here. My dad was kind enough to lend me his vocals for about 20 minutes tonight, but keep in mind this is only the second time he has ever heard or tried to sing this in the span of two months. The timing is somewhat patchy and the mixing job on my part somewhat rough. The finished version will probably sound much different. As far as the song itself goes I finially finished the drums and guitar for the bridge tonight. Now all I need is the solo, the ending (which is written but still in extremely rough form) and of course the vocals from my dad. I'm guessing if I'm lucky I should have this done in three weeks. A month and a half if I'm not.
  6. Give it a bit of time. I realize it's been a while since we started this but it's not very often board members take up something like this; I think all of us participating want to make what we're working on the best quality it can be. For me I'm guessing I have about a month left of work. I'm done the instrumental up to the second chorus. Beyond there I only have the bass and rhythm guitar done and a rough copy of an ending that feels like it would benefit from an Explosions in the Sky type finish. So needless to say that will add some time on. I'll try to throw an update on here sometime soon.
  7. Dude, if Eli Roth puts out a movie like Pulp Fiction I will eat my own nuts. There is a serious difference between trying to make a movie, that while violent and grotesque at times, at least has something to make people think when they've finished watching, and making a movie that attracts people for nothing more than the gore. I may not be a fan of Tarantino but I can at least respect that he has a very distinct style he works with. I'm not disagreeing that crappy movies are sometimes necessary for directors and producers to make in order to progress as artists; obviously all art requires such failure. But if your trying to argue Cabin Fever was an attempt at style or art as opposed to a freakish shock fest B-movie you're on crack.
  8. Cabin Fever was stupid and I made me and my date leave 2 minutes early before those red necks were about to shoot those black kids. I Wasn't dumb enough to go see Hostel. Weirdo directors and producers don't deserve my money.
  9. Does anyone know if there is a program out there that can deconstruct layers of different songs so you can isolate what certain instruments are doing? The bridge for Giant is killing me here.
  10. lol, I finally picked up the audio cable for my speakers so I've started recording again. As for the rest of you... I dunno, I think Glo is right. The music god's must be mad or something.
  11. yeah, it's the sum of all fears.
  12. Following in trend, I destroyed my speaker cable last week because it was failing to fulfill its duty of providing me with clear and unstratchy sound so I'm going to need to make a trip into Red Deer here in the next couple days to replace it. Thus, no cover for a bit longer.
  13. I'm getting the same problem. It just brings me to a "can not find" page when I click on the download button.
  14. haha, nice thread, makes me feel better about myself. I'm in the same boat here as pretty much everyone else. Classes finished last Tuesday and so far I've done maybe four hours of studying for 3 final exams. 3 of those hours being for French which makes up 4 of hours of studying for that class the entire semester.
  15. 16. Nice tone there and I'm secure enough in my sexuality to say you have a pretty sounding voice. What he said. Other then not letting the picking shine through at the end I thought it was very nicely done. I'm listening to the others posted as I write.
  17. Giant clip Here's a rough copy of some of what I've got done. I probably won't be able to work on it more till next thursday since I have finals to write until then.
  18. *nevermind
  19. I call Giant.
  20. I'd be up for it.
  21. Same. The opening rotating shots around Matt were very well done at certain points (E.G- 40 to 45 seconds in); almost reminded me of a movie trailer kind of.
  22. Fire departments are often the first response to medical emergencies, given that they're often closer than the nearest hospital. (Firefighters usually have medical training.) The nearest hospital is more than six miles from where I live, so we typically see fire trucks responding to medical emergencies in our neighborhood. Fair enough
  23. Not that it matters but...a fire truck?
  24. Not the lyrics but... http://www.matthewgood.org/mblog/2006/03/2...out-of-indians/
