1. Are there any song(s) in your musical calalogue that you consider to be your finest? and why? 2. Is there an early concert/gig that stands out, in your mind, as a monumental achievement in your career? 3. Where did the decision to have (the wonderful) Holly McNarland sing on "Flight Recorder from Viking 7" arrise? Would you ever collaborate with Holly again in the futur? Cheers, JK

1. Matt, I am a huge fan of your acoustic/folk songs (“Dancing Invisible,” “Heather’s Like Sunday,” “The Fine Art of Falling Apart”). Have you ever put thought into recording/releasing a solo acoustic album or the possibility of doing a small tour? 2. Who were you main inspirations (prose writers/poets/songwriters) when you began to write lyrics? 3. In you career, how significant were the recording of “Euphony” and“15 Hours on a September Thursday,” and what do those group of songs mean to you today? 4. How do you/Universal Canada go about selecting which tracks off your records will be released as singles? 5. Has your life/health/voice changed since the time you quite smoking cigarettes? Cheers, Kitch_Man

Whats The Longest You've Gone Without "mass Media"
Kitch_Man replied to laser30's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
I travelled throughout Mexico and Central America for 4 months back in 2001, that was the longest I have gone without TV, Music, Magazines and such... though I did stop in at an internet cafe (when there was one available) once a month to write home... JK -

GREATEST ROCK BAND TODAY
Kitch_Man replied to marik's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station

The Evolution of New Wave: The Genre of music known as New Wave that became quite popular in the 1980's actually began in the early to mid '70s. New Wave doesn't just include the Synthesized Pop that many equate with it. New Wave, having been accused as being an extension of Disco, was a whole reaction to Punk, and in some ways an offshoot of Punk. By observing this Chronology of Punk, an excerpt from a book written by George Gimarc, entitled: Punk Diary:1970-1979, many of the early "New Wave" bands are featured. Some of the bands included are: Blondie, From New York, but made it big in the UK first. The Pretenders, In London The Cars, In Boston Devo In Akron, Ohio Talking Heads, In New York X-Ray Specs, In London Siouxsie and the Banshees, In London Simple Minds

Lauryn Hill - "I Find it Hard to Say (Rebel)" Brilliant! -
"Man of Action"...Should have been the first single released from AOB. I would be curious to know who are the main decision makers for what tracks are released as singles from each LP. (Record Label Execs.?, The LP's Procducer?, the atrist/band memebers?)because I am still wondering why tracks like "Rico", "Carmalina", and "It's been A While Since I Was Your Man" were the choices for their respective albums... Cheers, J.K.

When they were on thier game, this was a brilliant band...Unfortunately though, alot of turmoil and ego hurt their reputation and their collaboration as musicians later in their career...

There were alot of Terrible tunes this year as with every year...though I have never seen the likes of a band as utterly untalented and pretencious as Good Charlotte, I mean everything they have put out is garbage, yet they still sell millions of albums...anyonw want to touch this one? What does this say about the general music buying public??

Brilliant Indie Comedy....though so many people relate/compare Ultra-low budget films like this to Hollywood comedies...why do that? Just respect that the fimmmakers had the balls to put together something original and offbeat, and made it work...it's one of the big success stories of the year, kuddos to them. Each year, hundreds of Independent filmmakers dare to acheive the impossible and scrape up enough funds and talent to put a story to the screen , I think it's rather impressive that they had the balls to go into depbt to make this film and worked their asses of to get it screened at festivals...the rest is history.
