  1. you're lovin' the tori amos tracks. have you heard her cover of slayer's "raining blood"???
  2. yet. ;) i like this idea. hooow about, i rally everyone who lives in my end, and we start pillaging in your direction. at the same time you'll rally everyone on your end and start pillaging towards us and we'll meet in the middle. which will become our fortress (of solitude).
  3. hahaha awesome. i saw their music video for "duke lion" or whatever it was called, and that was pretty intense/funny. i couldn't make up my mind about whether i loved it or not.
  4. does this friend have an open mind or are you trying to pry it open?
  5. borntohula suggests the following with no prior information given: the john butler trio - "pickapart" ladytron - "high rise" fu manchu - "mongoose" aberdeen city - "sixty lives" try those on for size????
  6. what are you into usually? aka what are you bored with? im asking so i don't mention something you've already heard.
  7. i just read that in an email my friend sent to me and it's fucking ridiculous. i have no faith in television anymore.
  8. but it's not like you could even listen to it all. also, it's a fad. also, they're ugly. bono says i should have one but you know what i say??? "make bono history"
  9. I third that. And you can be the cook, but you need to make me vegan meals. I foresee a lot of trail mix being eaten  I think land pirates would be easier. Let's make a hideout. I wish you guys lived close to me:( wow, land pirates. that's a good idea. i don't think it's been done before either. by my saying that it only means that i checked wikipedia, and seeing that there was no article on it, i decided it didn't exist. yeah i could tackle vegan meals. and by that i mean meals made of vegans. trail mix is alright in moderation but yeah we can't have too much of that shit. I'D GO NUTS ;) . sorry. where do you propose we make this hideout?
  10. hahahaha good call. yeah i really can't see how having 5,000 songs at your disposal is that useful.
  11. i always thought it was a ghost, but i like marshmallow better.
  12. ok ok, black metal it is then. in my opinion eat the day had better "riffs" from the clips that wes had offerred up way back when they were looking for a singer. i think the new stuff might be a lot more laid back (or simplistic) so that he can sing and play at the same time when they bother to do this stuff live.
  13. uhhh just a thought: all media everywhere pimps crap that you don't need. i think i don't like mr. canadian tire because he's so fucking happy. not that i'm unhappy and jealous, but his level of happiness/know it all kind of attitude makes me angry. not the actual products.
  14. hahahaha YES. i can either be the anchor or the angry cook. thoughts?
  15. yeah saying a loss of inhibitions makes you more your true self is a load of bollocks. you're yourself on alcohol. no offence to evan whatsoever but when i hear people say that it's a bit of a cop out. like a way to defend being drunk.
  16. who's our captain? i vote dan #2.
  17. iiiii'd still bone her.
  18. cool i dont think im familiar with it. i will check it out though.
  19. man i feel like dan #2 does when people hate on his death metal.
  20. yield as well. either that or riot act.
  21. Constellation is the name of a prominent Canadian space-rock record label, famous in particular for Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Do Make Say Think, and other such bands. It is a good name though, it just depends how much attention you're likely to recieve. all this time i thought do make say think were on arts and crafts....
  22. aw don't puss out now. we NEED to be pirates.
  23. i know you people hate me and my wes borland favoritism but here's his new band. danny lohner is in it, so is josh eustis and even josh freese (the notorious one man orgy). if you don't know who those people are then what i just said really doesn't matter. however it is important to point out that wes is the one singing. suprisingly. i was quite shocked. he also has his regular guitar duties too. here, have a listen: http://www.myspace.com/blacklightburns i'm not 100% happy with the songs provided, but it isn't limp bizkit, so i can forgive them.
  24. to me, avalanche is the last in a three-part opus, beginning with beautiful midnight of course. the stuff that preceeded BM has hints of brilliance but isn't so consistent or well-written for that matter. he was of course recognized early on for his talents, but i think beautiful midnight really kicked it up a notch (thanks emeril). thematically the three albums im discussing haven't much in common, so i'm sortof pulling this out of my ass, but i just feel this way because everything before BM was so-so and everything after avalanche thus far, has been a sort of back to basics approach... which could've worked really well had WLRRR not been such a throwaway record. don't get me wrong, it's good. but i think the b-sides ("cant get shot", "dusk") were better than "buffalo seven" for example. it had some strong songs and yeah yeah all he wanted to do was have an album to play live, but i dont consider it great by any means. i think the new material might be a return to greatness.
