crimson and zappa are alright to listen to, but i havent really got into them yet. i think the kind of prog i hate is stuff that sounds like ELO. -

First Record You Ever Bought
borntohula replied to borntohula's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
whoah, i forgot tapes existed, which totally changes my post. my first TAPE and record in general was that MC Hammer one. my first CD was the GnR one. -
this place was boring for awhile. hopefully things will kick back into high gear soon. ANYWAY i checked to see if this had been a topic before, but not very well, so don't lynch me if i'm wrong here. WHAT WAS THE FIRST RECORD YOU EVER GOT/PURCHASED??? mine was the spaghetti incident by guns n roses. what a bad record that was. although, their cover of "big dumb sex" would later get me interested in soundgarden. so that's a plus.

golden grahms are sextacular. i also enjoy lucky charms, honey comb, and lately ive been getting into healthier stuff like honey nut cheerios, apple cinnamon cheerios and those different types of "crunch" cereals that i dont know the names of. like oatmeal crunch and harvest crunch i think. those are tasty. i also dont mind oatmeal from time to time.

Grey's Anatomy - Code Black
borntohula replied to Crusader's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
uh the hospital i work at has code black. i'm not sure if its black or green which means bomb. i dont have my nametag here (they print the codes on the back) so i cant be certain. i think its a system that most hospitals tend to adhere to, simply because its better than yelling "theres a bomb" over the intercom. no sense in making people scared. p.s. that was a really good episode. -

Indie Music?
borntohula replied to ham_ahoy's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
the fact that you pay attention to this scares me. where i buy my merchandise affects how big of a fan i am??? darn, i guess i really don't like half the bands i thought i did. i was only pretending to like them because lord knows that my clothes speak more volumes than my record collection. again, why is this important? stop letting your clothes speak for you, and stop assuming people's clothes ultimately speak for them. who cares where i get my shirt from? fuck fashion. i think its more important to know where your clothes are made and whether or not the person who made them can afford to put food on the table for their family. "real" fans don't buy shitty merch made in honduras. -

thanks christy  -
most of us here listen to lots of music. does anyone have a favorite producer or two? mine would be: flood (NIN, nick cave & the bad seeds, smashing pumpkins) steve albini (nirvana, pixies, dirty three) dave botrill (tool, i mother earth, king crimson) and runner up: ken andrews (blinker the star, pete yorn, year of the rabbit)
