Dani California

its an important place to all of them obviously. thats like saying eddie vedder should stop using wave imagery or trent reznor should stop being so angry or using the word "nothing" in a lot of his songs. its a motif. -

The Dears
borntohula replied to darynalexander's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
yeah i think i hated them live. they really bored me to smithereens. i remember my friends resorting to trying to inflate the complementary codoms we got because the show was pretty lacklustre at that point. i enjoy their recorded stuff from what i've heard. which is 2-3 songs. -
its strange that even with the limit set, they still sell out that fast. i might go downtown for the show and see how much things are scalping for... or i'll go see pearl jam and wait till tool come back. haven't decided yet.

The Raconteurs
borntohula replied to borntohula's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
i'm not the biggest fan of jack white, or havent been recently at least, and i dont think you really need to be for you to enjoy this band. RAH CON TERR S the dude who's bones you wish to jump is jack lawrence. in an interview they referred to him as "little jack", i think. -
exactly. i don't think it sounds like lateralus, there are little differences and im sure there will be more to come.
-
the raconteurs are brendan benson, jack white, jack lawrence and patrick keeler. the project spawned from a song the benson and white had written called "steady as she goes". when they had the time, they got together with the other two band members (of the greenhorns) to record an album, entitled broken toy soldiers. comes out may 15th (although you can find it online relatively easy). benson and white share vocal duties. the music itself is in the same garage rock vein as the white stripes, although, it has more depth due to the presence of more instruments. these guys are fantastic.
