i thought muchmusic usa had changed its name to fuse a year or two ago. and that it plays predominantly new rock and rap. -

or if they do know them, they know them as "that band that the old bassist for avril lavigne went to". ;) -
i was an insane TMNT fan when i was little. i had a couple home movies of the cartoon, a lot of the toys, and a couple comics even. i tried watching the new cartoon when it came out. it just wasn't the same.

Nine Inch Nails

naw the bad counting is out. it doesnt sound NIN... which is good i guess. and it's better than the original single in my opinion. all i did was record the BBC radio premiere of it... so theres some hack DJ talking during the beginning and he kind of interrupts the end as well. but whatever, you get the basic idea of the song. i also have "little sister" the new QOTSA song if you want it. from the same show, different day. -

Who's the best live band?
borntohula replied to Kumquat's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
tool have been by far the best band i've seen live. visually the show is astounding, the band themselves are tight and aren't afraid to experiment. when i say experiment, i don't mean sniffing coke off of hookers, i mean they take chances with their songs and dont play carbon copies of the album. foo fighters deliver an energetic set from start to finish. matthew good has a hard time controlling the crowd, that's what i've found. EDIT: but the band is pretty solid musically, still. no complaints there. raine maida likes to masturbate on stage. -

frankly, i was tired of hearing the same old bands until this year. i've found that more people are finally tapping into an actual canadian music scene, and are not just listening to BNL, OLP, treble charger, sum 41, gob or avril lavigne. (no offence to said bands... or anyone who likes them. you can like them... i don't) there's a whole poop load of bands out there for us to finally listen to and experience. or at least, that's what it feels like. maybe it's always been this diverse, but i haven't realized it until now. thoughts? -

High Holy Days
borntohula replied to sedated19's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
who try to sound like pearl jam. therefore, high holy days are a derivative of a derivative. and even pearl jam were though of as the "poser" band in the 90s by some.... refer to michael keaton's movie "multiplicity". the ones who are derived from a derivative, end up being quite stupid. thats how i feel. however you can keep listening to them all you like. -

yeah i know what you mean. i think you almost have to pretend the others dont exist in order to enjoy them. like people have been saying "maynard fucked up 'gimme gimme gimme' by black flag"... they might have... but if a perfect circle were trying to be like black flag, then they might've gone in a different direction. the one thing i do like about that album is that it is very a perfect circle. minus "people are people"... even though it's a bunch of covers... it sounds like a perfect circle songs. -

emotive wasn't that bad. i enjoyed those reinterpretations better than straight off covers. plus, right now he's busy making the new tool record. -
