  1. okay. three cd set. thats more original anyway.
  2. I think you might be looking at Long Way Down the wrong way. "One horse town" and "circus town" are both figures of speach, so maybe they don't actually refer to a city. It could mean leaving behind a situation or a state of mind. But then again it might jsut be a happier sounding version of Suburbia and Coquitlam just really sucks.
  3. Well there you ahve it, I'm a god. So in conclusion, Matt is not done with music, and in half a year he will release a double CD like shania twaine, with all the songs on one being accoustic, and all the songs on the other being the same songs done only with tympani
  4. I was thinking tympany, but I'm really not sure that's an intrament, the dictionary tells me it's just a sound. But I don't know why I would know that word.
  5. I refered to both of us refering to me as a god.
  6. I've emailed him about it. I wanted to know if The Rat Who Would be King was about him/me going crazy and becomign the antichrist/ Darth Vader. He never responded, but I figured it out anyway. I don't think the title "Tripoli" has anythign to do with the song. It was mentioned a lot in one of the manifestos so maybe he just threw it in. Where Has my Head Gone would have been too obvious a title.
  7. And guitarchick reminded me of when the word "Howdy" was projected behind the band at the beginning of the Avalanche show in Toronto. Ha, Firestorm when you read my response in the other thread, don't be alarmed, but I made that before reading your last one here.
  8. baritone sax? You migth be thinking of another one, whos name i also forget, but I think was used and listed in the liner notes of Avalanche. I don't have my CD case with me, so maybe you can check. If I'm right, I'm god.
  9. Wow, it's quite nice to see some one actually feels the same way I do about this. Tragedy de Jour my dear. I can already see interest in this begining to fade, and there's been no news of anything positive of this issue. That tells me people feel like they've done their part, so they can move on and not feel guilty. It's quite sad really. Things like that Canadian benifit concert, while being done for a good cause, wouldn't be on the air if a few artists didn't see a chance to play the best gigs of their lives and if a few high ups weren't going ot make some money off of advertising and selling of airtime to celebrities and their causes. As for the bums, I think if your scenario took place the city would just cage up all the trees so that the homeless couldn't get at them.
  10. Getting Lo-fi B-sides seems unrealistic to me, so I just take the songs and put them on a CD and throw in all the b-sides not otherwise on an official CD. It does the trick. But I still waking up screaming the name of Lo-fi some nights. Some lonely nights.
  11. Let's all pray that is the case. How were these songs released as well. Hmmmmm?
  12. Since that was so speedy, do you know who these other guys are?
  13. i did a presentation in English comparing At Last There is Nothing Left to Say and the Life of Pi. I was wearing all of my Matt Good shirts (three at that point) and I gradually removed each one throughout the presentation. At the end I was left naked at the head of the class, with the words MG4LIFE carved in my chest. Most of that was true.
  14. This is probably an even more stupid question, but I've never really heard anyone talk about them, but waddap with Bon Tempo?
  15. I'd have to disagree with you there. Trombone allt he way. The jokes and gags are limitless.
  16. I recall Matt saying in an article in Chart I think, or possibly the magazine they give out for free at libraries that WWWHR was about music critics. I never really sat down and thought about that because I thought it was a joke, but it kinda makes sense. I always figured it was about him being an "asshole" and then realizing that he didn't have to be. The hunting rabbits bit can just be seen as attacking whatever you can. Then years of cloak and dagger (being a dick/"hunting rabbits) left him emotionally nothing, and he had his grand epiphany... why hunt rabbits (music critics, Chad Kraeouger, etc) when you cant hunt bears (the world).
  17. Oh interesting. these are tense times, what with him leaving the internet, the country, him being ill, him moving, and this whole mess. I can honestly see him not making music, being a pilot or something. but by "big band" do you mean like with a horn section and stuff?
  18. I was keeping pretty up to date with all of the recent developements, but I don't get all these people who say "since he might be done with music (but probably not)." Where and when was it ever implied that he was done with music? He just quit the whole internet scene, no?
  19. Thats odd, just this morning I made that my desktop background. Dare I say... Soulmates.
  20. Agreed. You've made a section of your fanbase aware of things they may not have otherwise been turned on to. I for one thank you for changing my outlook on the world and ensuring that I won't let my life be dictated by what I once thought were forces beyond my control. Please, in any way you see fit, keep up the good work in this regard. -Eric McCall
  21. Elvis Costello (Most likely not the Elvis mentioned before)
  22. i knew something was up when i starting eating sushi and licking my but that time i listened to that song for 23 hours straight FUCK!
  23. You said it. Or rather, Matt Good did, then we both paraphrased it.
  24. Oh Talking Heads, where would the world be without you? The shitter, that's where!
