    Concerts

i think they need to stay separate, so that people going to one show can discuss said show with others going to the same one in one nice neat little thread about that specific show.. rather than wading through a massive combined thread yep
  6. my aunt babysat me when she was in high school and mtv was brand new (!!) which means that i was a child of mtv or whatever she played for me. so i guess i started out liking michael jackson and madonna and duran duran and stuff like that and from there evolved to the hair bands because that's what she was into. so my first two records were bon jovi's slippery when wet and madonna's true blue because i'm fucking awesome. my favorite bands from 6th grade - 8th grade were faster pussycat and la guns and gn'r and motley crue - all stuff i still listen to (and only feel mildly guilty about it) and from there i evolved to soundgarden and jane's addiction and nin and sonic youth and so on and then i went through a wee misfits/dead kennedys/bauhaus/cure/etcetcetc thing and after that i just mixed everything together and rocked out with my cock out. i still like pretty much everything i've ever liked and i'm pretty open minded about music which means that most likely everyone in the world will have at least one thing in their music collection that i will approve of.
  7. core and purple are both solid albums hasn't this thread been done before? does no one use the search button anymore?
  8. mostly scary and nerve-wracking though ok sorta funny, too
  9. you're very welcome, and i was serious, you guys really did an awesome job. i don't usually even like cover songs but you did them so well. ;)
  10. to be honest, i didn't know white kids drank this shit unless they were poor.
  11. jenny, you're barely alive - rilo kiley
  12. circles i think white is a 'spiritual' color and i sorta agree with ninjagirl, my room is the most spiritual place i can think of, and by spiritual i mean i feel more comfortable and safe there than anywhere else
  13. yeah he's the one kinda sitting
  14. pictures of success and science vs romance are two of my favoritest rilo kiley songs and you guys certainly do them justice. i'm surprised and delighted and i adore this girl's voice and the music sounds wonderful and really, awesome job, sir. just awesome. ps i totally agree with you, that dude singing with you on tripoli needs to hush his face
  15. personally, i think it's perfect music when you're feeling down, because it's so fucking sad, man. Wouldn't you want 'happy' music when you're down? no it makes me feel better knowing that someone else also feels like complete and utter shit

    "work"

Vernon God Little is an amazing book, my favourite, written by DBC Pierre. It's a hilarious satirical commentary on American culture and excess and such. Vernon has a friend, a mexican gay kid named Jesus. The gay jokes go too far, Jesus shoots 16 kids then himself, and the small texan town of Martirio, which i don't know if it's real or not. Well the town brands Vernon the scapegoat and i can't go into depth without giving anything away, but the plot is as ingenious as it is twisted. Please read this. check your library yo. He runs to mexico ;) sounds interesting, actually i put it on my list of books to look for as soon as i finish the stack i have now ps i have never heard of that town but texas is a really big fuckin' state
  19. that sucks, and i'm sorry, sorry enough that i'm not even gonna call you whoreshine this time ;)
  20. my ex used to trade weed for pills to this chick named glo.. she was black, though. are you black? i said columbine was sad, didn't i? i'm pretty sure i did. i don't know where you got 'sick' from that, but whatever. there are cds made hono(u)ring all kinds of victims, that doesn't mean that the music industry as a whole is affected by any of it, which was my point. nowhere in my post did i say 'yay columbine, you kids should do a tour of the states shooting up schools, cuz that would be awesome!!' in conclusion, matt good having a song called 'a boy and his machine gun' isn't/wasn't making waves or ruffling feathers. it's a fucking song title. and fat guys are sexy. just not that one.
  21. perhaps you should stick to emo poses and creating sig images with your name on them. that seems to be where the majority of your talents lie. NOW you can say i've cut you down.
  22. cut the defensive bullshit, because asking you to clarify an ignorant statement YOU made isn't being defensive, ok? if i come across as bitchy it's because i AM bitchy, not because i'm defensive that someone i will never meet doesn't approve of the country i live in. columbine, whoopee. tragic, ok, very sad, but it's not going to affect the music industry or someone's opinion of a band that no one has ever heard of from another country. seriously, what are you talking about when you say it may have been 'ill-conceived'? i don't understand why you think the media would give a shit what matthew good has to say about this country or the government, period. whether he had become famous here or not, they're still not going to care what he has to say about the government. he's just some guy that makes records to the people that run this country. i 'discredited' what you said because you made an ignorant statement. and your 'photo essay' did nothing to show me that you know otherwise, because if this little montage is what you consider a 'lifestyle', then i don't know what to tell you. it looks to me like your view of america is seen through the eyes of people magazine or the e! channel, and i'm sorry sweetheart, but that's called 'entertainment', not life. honestly, i'm through even discussing this with you, because i could go outside and talk to a tree and get less ignorant retorts.
  23. nah, he mentioned something about selling some other stuff, as well
  24. you're a dirty liar
