Nude midgets monthly...now there is something worth spending my hard earned dollars on!

I love the ending of WWWHR...so beautiful. I love it when musicians blend their music with more classical stuff, it lends it a depth, a sense that it's going to be around in ten years. I dunno.. I really enjoy it

Good lord why are we hanging the man simply because he likes to keep a direct channel open to those who appreciate what he does? I don't presume to know his mind, but he probably keeps an email address and comment section so that he can get feedback from those who read what he writes. It's the death threats and over the top crazies that would get annoying and inspire someone to take a break. One that he is much entitled to... He doesn't owe us anything, why should he "appease his fans"? He could just be like every band out there with a site that exists simply to sell. He has chosen to do otherwise and should be commended for it. Going beyond the music leaves him open to a lot of criticism and if he decides that he doesn't want to take it anymore then that is his decision.

If I had to put up with all the crap he does..I'd have said "screw it" years ago. Can't imagine what it'd be like for people to have an opinion (and a need to voice it) about everything I say or do.

New Global Sex Trade
MadeleineSix replied to MadeleineSix's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
Yeah the thread title sort of summarizes it, but it is an in depth look at the trafficking of European women into prostitution rings. The girls respond to ads in papers, online etc. that promise high paying jobs such as waitresses, models, nannies etc. and once they arrive at their destination they are sold to a pimp and forced to service up to 20 men a day. Apparently it's a huge problem, and one which isn't getting much better because people at all levels ( policemen, UN peacekeepers, government officials etc) are clients of these illegal brothels and thus have no incentive to shut them down. An eye opener for sure. -
I couldn't open it... would someone be kind enough to email it to me? [email protected]

Canada. I know that wasn't an option. But I pick it anyway.

Damn working out. I have a gym phobia that I've been trying to conquer for a while...a serious phobia where I step foot in there and I feel people looking at me and my pulse starts to race and I get all flushed and embarrassed and feel like I can't breathe and I need to leave. A mini-panic attack..that alone is enough of a workout! I run a lot at home and on the pathways here, but took a kickboxing class last semester and loved it...

Hmm, hard to say. Storylines always seem so cliched when you summarize them...but here goes. A young girl Louise deals with the disappearance of her mother but falling in love with the mother of a family that moves into her nighbourhood. In her struggle to get close to the mother and have her adopt her, she befriends their son Abel and eventually falls in love with him. They have a really convoluted relationship and the story is following the trajectory of Louise's life as she lives with and without him. I really can't tell you how incredible it is though... you should really read it!

The story about Jenni.. I can't remember what it was called

Well I suppose that if I was a famous musician and had beautiful men throwing themselves at my feet, worshipping me and thinking I could do no wrong, I just might take a few of them up on the offer ... so it's entirely concievable that Matthew might have taken a few women up on it as well!

At Last There Is Nothing Left To Say
MadeleineSix replied to failingtherorshachtest's topic in Matthew Good
It was definitely an interesting read. I felt that for most of the book Matthew was trying too hard to entertain the reader. Being off-kilter just for the sake of being off-kilter. I thought the most beautiful and well-written part of the book was when he told the story of Jenni, because it seemed like he was simply telling a story, rather than trying to be a one man show. He is an incredible writer, as we can all see from his lyrics, but it seemed like he was afraid to rely on purely his writing and needed bizarre storylines as a crutch. Or perhaps his mind just works differently than most! -
I had an acquaintance who said that she slept with Matthew Good when he was in Calgary. I very highly doubt it though as a) I don't even think she really knows who he is and thus would be unlikely to recognize and/or seduce him and B) Matthew Good doesn't really seem like the sleeping-with-groupies type... or perhaps I'm just being naive...

Who Let This Happen?

Wow...spechless... -
I just thought I'd write and say that I would really reccoment reading "The Romantic" by Barbara Gowdy. This book is something so delicate and pure, I don't even have words to describe it. I read hundreds of books each year and this is among the few that's made me cry.
