Official Tour Setlist/review Thread 2009/2010
ze0ro replied to here is no why's topic in Matthew Good
I've uploaded Matt's rants from the Nov. 15th show in Calgary. The quality is lackluster at best, but beggars can't be choosers (I recorded with my iPod). I had a nosey friend who played with the settings and thus ruined the recording of the show, but the rants survived okay. Anyway, a couple of people have mentioned interest in hearing the rant about Ozzy, so voila: [hide_me]http://www.sendspace.com/file/awjjbq[/hide_me] PM me if there are any problems. -
Rabbit, I would like to get both Volcanoes and Fought to Fight It if you have them. Thank you!
-
Would it be possible for someone to set me up with this song as well? Thank you in advance if you can do so!
-
I might as well jump on the bandwagon. If anyone would be kind enough to hook me up with this song, I'd be very appreciative! Thank you.
-
Did anyone happen to bootleg the Calgary show last night? I had to leave almost as soon as Matt came on stage due to a family emergency, and so I missed him. Thanks. ;)
-
Hey uglybutterfly, were you standing behind the soundboard by chance? Lots of complainers about Ladies and Gentlemen there. Just thought I'd ask.
-
Awww, he played Suburbia? That's my favourite of his songs and I had to miss it? Now I'm not disappointed...I'm bitter. Oh well, he'll certainly return to Edmonton for his fall tour...and even better, maybe come down to Calgary so I don't have to road trip to see him. ;)
-
Was anyone lucky enough to catch Matt play in Edmonton last night? I couldn't make it. I heard Oh Be Joyful over the phone, but reception was poor and my friends were too far away from the speakers so it was tough to hear! hehe Sounded good, though I've never known Matt not to sound good.

Hard to choose. I can't pick in an order. I suppose these are my top five in no order, with my favourite song as number 1: Near Fantastica Strange Days Avalanche Man of Action 1. Suburbia

Retarded...that's quite crude. As ToadMan mentioned, it's based on a true person. Now how would you feel if he was reading this right now. ;) Just a note...I did enjoy the irony of your mispelling the word "retarded" twice, each time a different incorrect spelling. hehe

Every Calgary show in the last five years. ;)

21st Century Living was even more politically charged when he played it live, because of the speeches/clips of people (i.e. Bush). I loved hearing the different versions of that song live...was like a new statement every time.
-
I see the song as a reflection of his problems in the past, and as a comment about how so many choose to stay in the "shelter of their own minds," where it is comfortable and safe. The bird that collides could be a metaphor of the problems outside this "shelter," that so blatently can capture one's attention...and the song expresses the refusal to exit one's safe world in order to help. Of course, I've never been very astute in regard to analysing and interpreting poetry, so I'm likely so off-base I can't even see it anymore.

I hate Natalie Portman, but I guess I'll give the film a chance in light of the positive reception here.
-
Been there, thanks. I'm referring more to comparisons between it and the previous version...what's the same? What's changed? When is it going to be released? It keeps being delayed. Etc, etc.
-
Suburbia. Do you realize? I'm missing.
-
I hope this turns out. While the asshole ratio at his concerts isn't as high as some, there's always a few...and they're ALWAYS right in front of me, jumping around, hollering, bumping into me. Grrr! It's times like those I become likely to commit murder...
-
Huh. I always thought it was the first...learn something new every day.
-
I never thought them the same song, but I do agree. The flow is excellent. This was meant in response to OceanusBlue...the quote messed up on me. ;)
-
Annabelle. I lurve it!
-
Does anyone have any info about the remake of the Japanese thriller Dark Water? I only know that it's coming out *sometime* this year...and have been looking forward to it!
-
I hope this new Batman is as good as Michael Keaton's. He was definative as a...serious...Batman.
-
Yikes! A whole gamut of emotion in this thread! hehe

It had potential for sure. However, the sensationalized EVP and had all sorts of nonsensical plot points. There are many "whys" that were not answered. In some films, "why" doesn't have to be answered. In Juon (The Grudge), for example, there was lots of things that didn't make sense. However, these unanswered factors add to the film. However, in White Noise, I was left with too many questions that SHOULD have been answered. Bad writing. Boo!
