  1. it's a way for elitist fanbois to suppress other fanbois.
  2. I at least enjoy the lyrics/intent behind Every Name is My Name.
  3. I personally think a band like Linkin Park benefits from big production. Also, you can have emotion and still sing well ;) Another problem is the mix in general, the demo sounds very stale to me.
  4. queens of the stone age - suture up your future
  5. There are some awesome songs on their second album. I love Decade Under the Influence. I don't know, I don't want to list everything. King Crimson is about as leftfield as I get, although that is admittedly pretty far ;)
  6. I prefer vocals to be on key.
  7. What? Why? btw I like how the harmony to the EV chorus is between "make it" and "3's & 7's".
  8. Good to hear, considering the best half is the second half. Awesome song... I love the harmonies at the end, too.
  9. snap, I forgot that was her.
  10. That's fucked up--I can hardly believe Fripp would have anything to do with this song anymore. I'd be very interested in hearing it if it gets released.
  11. Stone Sour and Creed are probably pretty close.
  12. I prefer C. Seriously though, B kills A. I don't think this is the kind of song where a demo would be preferable.
  13. I enjoy the album. There's a few songs that are kind of meh to me (Into the Hollow, Make It Wit Chu). River in the Road and Suture Up My Future are probably my favorites. I'm not sure they broke a lot of new ground here, although they're definitely experimenting. It's nice to have Troy involved in the songwriting. This album has a weird feel for me where the production sounds kind of minimal and raw while at the same time there's a good amount going on within the songs. I wish they included the title track on the album.
  14. I actually kind of dug the avalanche cover. Perhaps because of the colors or whatever. The disc art is where it's at though.
  15. Someday is a bit faster and pitch shifted up a half-step.
  16. This is pretty old, but hilarious. I love how the verse/chorus changes happen at the same time. same with the cheesy acoustic breakdowns lol. They're really a terrible band.
  17. The cover art is very bleh.
  18. Breaking even ftw.
  19. This thread reminded me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hmCgrBozfU
  20. I'm still bitter that I haven't heard "The Fun Machine Took a Shit and Died".
  21. It's certainly hard to argue with innovative and mindblowing lyrics like "you're crazy but I like the way you fuck me".
  22. I don't understand how the performance is really that unimpressive if you've ever seen them before. It's not tremendously different from the lateralus tour, and in my opinion a bit more interesting. I haven't heard anything from Melt-Banana but I'm expecting them to suck hard or make me laugh. Last falls tour with Isis was <3 <3. I wish Patton was with them this tour :-]
  23. What was disappointing?
  24. Why would you want the radio version over the album version? Just to collect? I don't think there's one that isn't directly ripped from the radio available. I feel like the song was shortened, but only in the bridge. I could be wrong--there may be other changes. The song is new to me, still.
