Peter Schilling- Major Tom (I'm Coming Home) -
The most romantic part of the story was that Jenni was sexually abused by her step-father. God, I'm so horny right now...

Where did you find Amy Guip's email address?

The eight nyquil tablets help me sleep at night.

Call it reaching if you will. It looks like LHO and the sybolism of the gun over his mouth makes the case that much more compelling.
-
See, the resemblance between Lee Harvey Oswald and the cover of Raygun is quite similar. That's why I got the tattoo. I'm a big Kennedy Assassination buff and I've always thought the cover of Raygun depicted LHO. The hair may be a bit different, but it's close enough in my book. Maybe i'll take a picture of the tattoo soon for everyone to see...

I highly doubt that the image has anything to do with anal fetish. It would be really funny if it did, but I doubt it. I could tell people the image is about liking ass to mouth. Good ol' ATM. Matt Good can be out there sometimes, but not that extreme.
-
Gee, you just didn't open your ass and speak out of it now, did you? No pun intended. There are two reasons I got the tattoo: 1. The cover of that CD is awesome. 2. Like I said, it looks like Lee Harvey Oswald. How symbolic that a gun is strapped over his face/mouth. Lee Harvey Oswald was blamed for the assassination of Kennedy, but was never able to tell his side of the story because he was shot before he went to court. So I see a gun covering his mouth as the ultimate in irony. No matter what the cover may ultimately mean, everybody who has seen the tattoo has been told it is LHO.
-
Yes I do. It's almost done. I'm about to get the rest of the tattoo finished sometime in the next two weeks.

Does anybody know who exactly is depicted on the cover of the Raygun EP? It looks a lot like Lee Harvey Oswald to me. I have the cover tattooed on my chest and I tell people it's Lee Harvey Oswald when they ask. Crusader needed to ask him that question when he was able to email interview Matt a few months back...

Whose Loseranthems Has The Lowest Number?
thefutureisxrated replied to Radiohead's topic in Matthew Good
#09268. I read somewhere that if you pre-ordered it online, the numbers were randomly distributed. -
I saw the movie for free a few weeks back as part of a preview and I thought the movie sucked major ass. Was I watching the Exorcist? I can't stand directors that piece together various parts of other movies and then claim it as their own. Keanu was way over-dramatic and the whole flip-the-bird-to-the-devil thing was just too much for me to handle. At that point anyway, I was looking at my watch more than the screen...

My favorite song is "I Don't Mind." It's a fuckin great song... -
I, an American, was under the impression that Post-secondary schooling in Canada was free. I was told that by many Canadians that I have come across in my daily ventures. Please inform me of my ignorance on this subject...

The Apparitions Video on Much. It was 1998 and my cable company just gave us Much here in the US. I was in love with the channel for the pure reason that they played rock music I had never heard before. At any rate, I bought Underdogs because Apparitions was so good and I figured the rest of the cd had to be as well. One of the few times I bought a CD based off of one song in my life... What a great buy. I now own every MGB/MG CD. By far the best thing in music right now, hands down.

I am the lone "Put Out Your Lights" voter. I always listen to that song before a rugby match... It gets me all riled up and makes me want to harm people.

I don't want the answers to the questions, I just want to know what questions he chose to submit to Matt...
-
Crusader- Can you at least list the questions you chose to send to Matt Good for the interview?
-
I would like to add my american two-cents to this dialogue... I am personally thankful to MuchMusic for exposing me to MGB in 1997. I saw the Apparitions video my first semester of College and have been a fan of MG/MGB since. I have purchased all MG/MGB cd's except lo-fi. I am still pleased by the quality of music he puts out. It's better than anything american I've heard in quite some time. MG primarily sells all of his records in Canada. Very few people know of his work outside Canada. To sell 250K records is a grand feat, especially in the age of downloads. Unfortunately, most people jump on the popularity bandwagon. You see this in school and in music. If Much plays Matt, Matt sells records. Radio airplay = record sales. If Much stays away from Matt, Matt sells records to those who are MG fans. Musicians fall off the radar for various reasons and bandwagon fans forget about them. Their loss. It's great to sell a ton of records, but it's not the only factor that determines a great musician. Look at Ashlee Simpson... I'm sure she has outsold all MG/MGB works, but she is a hack, and that was before she was caught lip syncing. Most people out there have no comprehension of what is "good" and what is "bad." They buy records off of what they hear on the radio and see on tv. This is the mass market. Drone consumers. MG doesn't need to appeal to the masses to be a legitimate musician. To call him a has-been is an idiotic remark. A has-been is somebody who no longer comes close to producing the quality of work that once was that person's gold standard. One could argue that MG makes better music without MGB. I think WLRRR is better than Raygun, LOTGA, and Avalanche. I say it is the equal of AoB, but not better than Underdogs or BM. Every person I know who likes rock music and who has never heard MG loves WLRRR. They all say the same thing... It's better than anything out there now.

Another Political Test

You are a: Social Liberal (66% permissive) and an... Economic Liberal (20% permissive) I am best described as a Socialist. I exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness. I also believe that corporations, for the most part, will destroy society. Moral of the story: Support your local Communist. -
Who Else Hates The Hip
thefutureisxrated replied to Dan #3's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I've seen plenty more of my american countrymen with mullets than Canadians. Down here, we have the female mullet to go along with the sponsor-endorsing nascar jackets that are all the rage. On a side note, I find it humorous that the current trendy rage for blacks in the states is to wear NASCAR jackets. Support your local redneck ;) member by buying his jacket. -
New Good Band!?!?!
thefutureisxrated replied to a topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
They sound like Serial Joe merged with the sound of any music you'll be likely to hear on corporate radio. -
So, what's the verdict?
-
Do you have a desire to make music that is more in line with the old MGB sound or will you continue to make more accoustic music? Will you at any time form a new band? I hear Jack Pillow Head is a side project, but are there any definite plans for a new group? Is there a chance MGB will ever get back together? When will the MGB Videos DVD be coming out? Will you at any time reincarnate the Manifestos? When does your contract with Universal expire? Do you regret signing with Universal records? When in the hell are you going to play a gig in Cleveland? It'll sell out in 10 minutes guaranteed. Where can I find the old MGB clothing that used to be for sale? Is there a place that this stuff is kept in storage? I want the MGB toque... Have you ever considered forming your own record label?
