  1. okay, so here's there the deal. I'm guessing a lot of us would agree that most bands in the top 40 blow. but every once in a while, the top 40 kids actually luck out and get a quality band with merit so i ask you this, what is the best band you can find among the popular groups? for me? being that i posted this topic, i have to go with The Killers. there newest album is on constant repeat in my stereo. i am very very impressed by their talent. okay...post your thoughts/opinions/criticisms
  2. holy shit, it sounds a lot like matt seriously laaaammmeeee
  3. working at Target one day, i rang up an interesting purchase...volume 4 of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, only this wasn't the weak version they are pushing on children today, nope, this was the original animated series from the late 80s/early 90s. having fond memories, i went to the entertainment section and picked up the only copy we (target) has...and i have been watching this dvd every free moment i have, and i've got to tell you, there is so much comedy in this that there is no way i appreciated when i was a child. my favorite bit that i can pass on is after the turtles have reversed a machine created by Shredder and Krang that was flooding the city, it begins to suck the water back up Raphael: "hey, the water is receding!" Michaelangelo: "what clue told you that?" okay, probably not as funny reading this as it is...so let's try this one Krang about to tell Shredder the story of how an alien gem made it to Earth "Do you have time for a flashback?" "absolutely" and on the newspaper editor's birthday, he is talking to his much younger girlfriend "so how old are you baby?" "i am fifff....i am fifff...i am thirty-something." so i've got to tell you, if you remember this animated gem from your youth, definetly look for a copy. its a trip back to a time that you have probably forgot.
  4. Len - Dante's Inferno really cool smooth instrumental
  5. 10th season is easily one of the best of South Park in a long time. way fucking better than last season.
  6. holy shit! i really didn't see that coming either
  7. damn, i forgot that, Zodiac should be awesome. imagine if Fincher + Avery + Final Cut Pro somehow got together. that would result in the greatest film ever (for me)
  8. at least he has his recording career to fall back on.... bwa-ha-ha-ha!!! seriously, can anyone name one thing he has contributed to society that will make him memorable 10, 20 years from now?
  9. already posted it
  10. our modern day Romeo and Juliet have decided to part ways god am i joking this made me laugh when i read this
  11. Huh? Did MC Hammer do the Ninja Turtles theme? o.O that is so mislabled Blender it was Vanilla Ice who did Turtle Power god, i'm a dork for knowing that...
  12. i totally forgot David Fincher. he is an incredible director. and i'd have to disagree with you on the ending of The Game...simply an incredible film. just after you know the ending, watch it again, and watch Michael Douglas' character, his actions, knowing the meaning behind all the things that are happening to him SPOILER (Highlight to View) take his orders to the waitress about how he only wants water with the lid sealed on. watch it from the waitress' point of view, he's a crazy man. take his point of view, and how he has been lead to believe that people are trying to control him, and this would make sense, and they are trying to control not only him so much, as the things around him Fight Club will become a future classic, as will The Game. damn, i have to go watch it now.
  13. the new Snow Patrol...whatever that's called
  14. hey, i downloaded the SNL hosted by Hugh Laurie and I really want to rip the audio of him playing his Protest Song. could anyone suggest a free program that would allow me to rip this? thanks for any and all help.
  15. i know this, but i would still classify it as a Johnny Cash song
  16. this isn't in Sticky Situations for a reason. this thread is for you to describe the first time you heard a song of your choice. i'll tell my story (its not much of a story, i admit) so you can see what i'm talking about. the song: A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash I was sitting outside of The Northmart in The Pas, MB in the parking lot with my father when it came on CJ1240 (town radio station) he told me, "listen to this..." "alright" i told him, not really going to pay as much attention to it as he was probably expecting. and i gotta say, i was blown away by the simplicity and humor of Cash's greatness. and this completes the thread/story i felt like sharing. now your turn(s)
  17. yeah, it looks pretty good. i'd probably rent it.
  18. Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind is my favorite movie and so underrated. I think if he chose a subject matter that was more popular with the film critics, more popular than a game show host moonlighting as a CIA agent, it would be getting higher praises.
  19. i read the title and was totally going to post Michel Gondry and Roger Avery but you had them up there. they're both awesome and if they haven't already directed their masterpeices, they will soon.
  20. Hugh Laurie singing The Protest Song live on SNL...wicked parody of folk songs...very very very funny.
  21. Jim Gaffigan and Ron White
  22. Refused - The Shape Of Punk To Come
  23. Color And Shape is ridiculously awesome, and so much better than anything they have come out with since.
