  1. I assume you'll be consulting the other band members on what the name of the band should be, at some point? I had to null, unfortunately. I don't really like any of those names, except for 1979, and that's just cuz it's ripping off one of my favourite bands right now ;)
  2. ah. spanx very much there was a rumour going around a while ago that her record label dropped her. Hopefully not though.
  3. but her website's dead and nobody seems to have info on her... ;)
  4. ...I didn't. really good try though! ;)
  5. Speaking of which, where the junk did she go? She's one of my favourite singers. I thought she was prepping a new record a while ago, or something.
  6. nominations here if anyone's curious As usual, the larger categories are a disappointment (Simple Plan for Album of the Year? LOLLERSKATES), but some of the smaller categories recognized some good stuff that happened in canadian music this year. I'm really happy to see Buck 65 get a nod for songwriting. I don't belive that co-songwriting devalues your worth as a legitimate writer. Avril Lavigne is crap, though. I also didn't realize that Floria Sigismondi is canadian. That's awesome. Although Matt Good's last record was...less than impressive...the Junos pretty clearly don't really like the man anyway, hence the lack of nods.
  7. you guys are so lame yes, this cd is soooooo good. I also only have a burned copy. When is it coming out in canada?
  8. Holly McNarland backs for Pony Boy, I'm pretty sure

  11. title track.
  12. it's pretty easy to change that stuff on Wikipedia. Apparently the entry on Matthew Good is constently being changed like this. I wouldn't stress too much about it.
  13. I understand the objections some feminists have to the PETA ads, especially after reading through some of the links swedish posted. I don't personally feel the ads to be objectifying women, though. I think the slogan "I'd rather go naked than wear fur" connotes enough of a power to choose on the part of the person in the ad, and the ads never cut out parts of the woman's body (e.g. her face) or focus on the more "sexual" pieces of her. I would prefer to see these ads include more men and more body shapes of both sexes, however, before I were to feel completely comfortable with them.

  16. I don't like people who pretend to be something they're not, so I voted Good Charlotte.
  17. She didn't. She has said that her letter to amnesty concerned his conduct to those of differing opinions over the internet. I remember her trying to clarify this more clearly in her blog, but at this time her blog doesn't seem to be available for public viewing anymore.
  18. Thank you for your overgeneralizations and commenting on something you clearly did not bother to read about or understand in full. As far as this matter goes, you are probably the hundreth person to do so over the last few days. Congratulations.
