Have fun! I'm super jealous. Just gotta patiently wait for November 26 and 28.

Need New Music Recommendations

Honeymoon just came out last Friday from Lana Del Rey. Salvatore is a really good track. -
straight up obsessed with Army of Lions. Li-iiiiii-ooonns

I feel like I like this album the most. Not just because it's the newest either. I really liked Arrows a lot. But I feel more emotionally attached to this album if that makes sense. I got chills when I listened to it through the first time. I feel very strongly about it. It feels relatable in a sense. I liked Lights too, but definitely am digging this one way more.

actually, i found something that kind of works, though I don't necessarily think it's accurate. https://soundcloud.com/emmit643/moment-matthew-good-cover

Good morning CA is uploaded :http://globalnews.ca/video/2232129/matthew-good-plays-first-single-from-chaotic-neutral-live-and-acoustic Twitter Canada and Periscope were the same thing, it was the twitter Q&A, which was pretty quick The Edge was last night, but I don't think they do a digital archive, so you won't be able to go back to it. He told some stories about Bones Hillman, Wade got him to say he'd come back after the second show in Toronto. I missed Indie88.

I'm dreaming of an acoustic Suburbia for the the 4 song acoustic set you get with VIP. Pretty sure he did it in London (England not Ontario). I'd die. It's so beautiful.

Oh I went to Kingston too. Grand Theatre was uppity. You couldn't stand. Except when Load Me Up was played. Matt did come for HOPE Volleyball in Ottawa before the arrows tour kicked off though. I got Jimmy's set list from that one. and one of Matt's extra guitar picks. They weren't going to give the set lists, and I called out pretty please to Lance, so he passed it to security and told them to give it to me. And security pointed to some other person and was like "they asked first" and Lance was like "no. Her." and pointed to me. It was great. Love ya, Lance! ;)

well, if you do I'd be into it.

Two of my favourite Bluesfest concerts in terms of showmanship were 1) RUSH for the Clockwork Angels tour, which I wanna say was 2012. Floating screens, and smoke and stuff. So cool. 2) Kanye this past summer. I'm actually really glad I got to go to that. People hate on Kanye, but the man puts on a great show. The light platform was a wicked set too. So cool. I'll add as well, I got to attend the very small acoustic show for Matthew Good at Zaphods. The venue is very small and this was one of 2 all ages shows they did there. I lined up at I think 9am, and there were already people lined up. They only let in 50 people. It was fantastic. I think it was 2005? Cause I think I was in grade 9 at the time. The concert ended up coming to be because there was a Win-Your-Way-In concert at Capital Music Hall through The Bear, but it ended up being a win your way in for a bigger prize, and Matt Good wasn't happy about it because it meant people weren't necessarily trying to win because they wanted to see Matthew Good, but because they wanted whatever the other "bigger" prize was. That was probably one of my favourite concerts, if not my favourite concert I've ever been to.

I think you might have row A then. There is no AA. Southam Hall starts at BB. Cause DD is third row. I looked at the map. I think BB and CC were reserved for Amex front of the line. Cause I legit couldn't get better than DD sans amex. I actually bought row FF the first day of presale, and saw the next day that there was a seat in DD and I called up ticketmaster very angry, saying "I trusted you when you said best available! I bought Row FF when there was DD" so they switched it for me even though it was final sale. I don't mess around when it comes to my tickets. And I agree. I really like the NAC as a concert venue. I saw City and Colour there last year, and Buck 65. Phenomenal. And of course, when he was here last I saw Matt Good there too.
-
Any chance you wanna do that for Moment too? I'm good to learn stuff once I can see it, but generally don't have a great ear to figure stuff out for myself. My "Kid Down the Well" turned out decent, though I don't know if it's actually correct. Sounds good though.

Looks Like Vinyl Releases Of Back Catalog Are Coming
emmit643 replied to mrjason's topic in Matthew Good
I think I know what I'll be asking for come Christmas. -
I like the idea of launching up the M+ type deal again. Also yes to the comments section/community. I do miss being able to comment on say the blog posts on his website. I also got a free ticket to one of his shows through the "rarities thread" back when that was a thing, since someone else in Ottawa couldn't use their ticket. Comment sections are good things.

So far so good. I really love that the whole (almost) album is up there prerelease. Although, I'm finding it crashes quite a bit for me when I play the soundcloud tracks. Also has anyone submitted questions for the Periscope q&a? I did a bunch.
-
No it did. If you go look on iTunes, Army of Lions is still listed. Maybe they had an issue with the file on soundcloud.
-
Yeah I wasn't sure if I was going to do Corona Theatre or not, but there was no VIP for the NAC so I had to (because I've been saying I'd buy a VIP ticket for years, and missed out every time). I saw him in at the Corona Theatre for the Arrows tour. It's a great venue. And the ticket is general admission, so VIP was *that* expensive (still kind of expensive) Where abouts are you sitting for the NAC? I'm row DD seat 31 I think.
-
I would have moved heaven and earth to be there. But I got free tickets to Massey Hall last year, so I'll just have to be happy with that I guess. Now November just needs to hurry up and get here so I can see him in concert Ottawa and Montreal.

I'm really liking the album. When all the demos were released I recorded them with my phone so I could keep listening to them, but I missed Harridan and Cloudbusting. Everything is sounding amazing. The finalized versions of everything gives me chills. Really, really loving Harridan, Los Alamos and Moment. (Kid Down the Well is a favourite, I even already learned my own cover version of it. But the other songs are newer and shinier right now since KDTW is already out with the other iTunes prereleases)

I'm really sad We Have Done This Before, We Will Do it Again did make the cut. I know it's long, and would've been pricier to record (studio time etc) but I really really really liked/connected to that one. I know it was said it was cut because "just that, we've done it before" but I always look forward to the longer tracks. They're always really good. Avalanche, Champions of Nothing, Empty's Theme Park, Non Populus. All of it. I love it. I live for it. At least it's on youtube I guess. I probably account for about 400 of the 800 views. lol I love learning Matt Good covers. But the ever difficult Bm gets me every time... I hate bar chords more than anything.

Somewhere on his Facebook page months ago I think it was mentioned. Also Jimmy's been touring with other bands. Too bad though, I really liked Jimmy Reid. He's a cool dude. Blake Manning is still on drums. He's a cool guy too. Very nice. I talked to him after the show at Corona Theatre in 2013. I think Milos appeared at the last show he did recently, so maybe he's still gonna be there?
-
maybe most of the tickets were given out through the radio contests
-
One of my questions made it in. It kicked off the video. Which was cool.

I posted about this in the Chaotic Neutral tour thread, not realizing it was sort of getting talked about over here but did any one actually get an email saying they got tickets to the "secret show" in Toronto??? No one I have talked to got an email, everyone's asking via Facebook and twitter but Team MG is absent on the matter at the moment. I really want to go, but I need to book a bus ticket to Toronto from Ottawa, which gets more expensive the longer I wait :/
