Favorite music videos...
miles2025 replied to HoboFactory's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I love Disturbed's video for Prayer. It was so awsome and meaningful that most stations pulled it off the air. But seriously, if you haven't seen it, watch it! It's on their website, www.disturbed1.com Runner up would be U2 - One I also found MGB - Anti-Pop and Barenaked Ladies - Pinch Me to be pretty funny. -
GREATEST ROCK BAND TODAY
miles2025 replied to marik's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I would also have to agree with U2. They're my favourite band. But like a few of oyu have already mentioned, they're new CD definitely isn't one of their greatest. -
Prime Time Deliverance. This is much more difficult than what the finals will be.

Haha, look at that. By reading this thread, I found another one. I always thought he said "Not enough to stop this from me". Damn Audio of Being booklets without lyrics ;)

Why Does Everyone Hate....
miles2025 replied to ok_go_570's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I think it's what Sparg said...everyone who grew up on real punk doesn't like them because they are just imitation punk. Me, I don't like bands like Bad Religion or the Ramones any more than Sum 41 or Blink 182. You won't see me on any boards saying that anyone's sold out or that they've ripped off previous music...I just plain and simply don't like the music genre. So any time I hear it on the radio, I turn it off, and don't waste my time complaining about it. Simple Plan on the other hand....they're the biggest bunch of flaming fags who do nothing but whine like teenage girls and deserve to be shot. -
My favourite MGB song is Load Me Up, so I would have to choose that one. And for some reason, I seem to love how Man of Action starts out at the very beginning...It really makes me want to rock out.
-
Jenni's Song: I also misheard "I've seen red" for "A Secret". Also, when he said "I love you, buried alive" I thought it was "I love you very much". Suburbia: I thought "Hell's coming with me" was "Who's coming with me". Load me Up: I thought "And they're comedians" was "and they're chameleons". Anti-Pop: I thought "Give them blood and they'll love you for it" was "Give them bud and they'll love you for it". In a World Called Catastrophe: I thought "since then I'm a dog" was "since then I'm a doll". Pledge of Allegiance: I thought "This is a commercial" was "The sea's a commercial". There's probably a bunch more...I seem to have a lot, but none of them are really that funny.

Prime Time Deliverance Weapon

It's probably just that he has put out more CDs with MGB that I choose them. Beautiful Midnight is slightly greater than Avalanche. Then when you take all of the great hits that MGB had, there is no way you can compare WLRRR to it all. However, I think Matt is a better songwritier now, and his music has more variation.

This is tough 10. Jenni's Song 9. Suburbia 8. Everything is Automatic 7. The Future is X-Rated 6. Anti-Pop 5. Avalanche 4. A Boy and His Machine Gun 3. Prime Time Deliverance 2. Weapon 1. Load Me Up If I were to post again next week it would probably be totally different.

I always thought he was saying "talk about you" :S Taco Bell Shoes? Haha
-
It's also due to his hatred of television and the media in general. There is no station in the world that adds more BS entertainment to their news than Fox.
-
He also mentioned that with this album, it's not going to be recorded in a studio or anything. He's just going to set up instruments, play the songs, and have them recorded onto his computer.
-
On this past tour, did he play a slow acoustic version of Apparitions for anyone else? He did in Vancouver, and it sucked. There was no melody, and he used his voice way too much. I loved it when he played Carmelina and Load Me Up though. And I have never heard that "Can't Get Shot" song that everyone on here talks about ;) Does anyone know where I can get it? There was one song on the tour that I didn't recognize but he didn't mention it being new or anything.
-
I've never bought a single either. It seems pointless, especially looking at most of the ones he's released. Who really cares about a clean version?
-
He didn't play it in Vancouver  However, I think that the energy he puts in contriubtes to the mood of the song. A slow version would just be like "is this a love song??" That said, I would still like to hear it ;) [email protected]

There's a big difference between being sad, being depressed, and being clinically depressed. I don't think I've ever been depressed.

I'm new to this - we're voting for the one we like better? Giant.

Metallica
miles2025 replied to (GY)RazorKnife's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I also never really liked Metallica. Maybe they're just too heavy for me. But I always thought they were overrated and didn't have good music or lyrics. They were just a really influential band that paved the way for what we now know as "rock" music. -
I think Matt put put the poem in one of his blogs a few months ago. I am assuming that was well after the album release though? I remember when he started posting the freehand, it wasn't that long ago.
-
He said that in the last couple of months before the breakup of MGB, everyone hated everyone and that his life was really not going well. I don't think he was ever clinically depressed, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to write music or perform. But he definitely wasn't enjoying life a hell of a lot.

"last Show For A While. Maybe Even A Few Years"

I like his music. I buy his CDs and go to his concerts. I guess I'm a fan.
