New Rock Sub-genre

EMO aka. I want to kill myself rock. -
Beautiful Midnight is my second favourite album ever, only beaten by U2's Achtung Baby. About half the songs on Beautiful Midnight have at one point or another been my favourite song, and there are no songs that I don't like. Avalanche was also a really good written album...definitely his best written album, and I liked the variation between songs. Audio of Being was also really good.

I have about a dozen history teacher songs, which ones do you need?

Who Thinks "seriously Serious" Is Seriously Bad?
miles2025 replied to failingtherorshachtest's topic in Matthew Good
I haven't heard it ;) Anyone want to send it to me? -
LOL @ Strange Days being played. That's exactly the type of high energy song I need to motivate me to jump up and do something active. So insipiring.

In the past few weeks, I have realized how narrow minded I have become to music. The only music I really listen to is: U2 Matthew Good/Band In that order. In no particular order, other bands or musicials that I like but don't listen to much would be Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Sam Roberts, Nickelback (yeah yeah), Bryan Adams, Matchbox Twenty, Barenaked Ladies, Faith No More, The Tea Party, Sarah McLachlan, Chantal Kreviazuk, Vanessa Carleton, David Usher, Weird Al, and Nirvana. As for genres, it's hard to really say? I can listen to anything except for Rap/R&B/Hip-Hop/Dance...pretty much everything that's in style right now? What I listen to can range anywhere from soft rock to pop rock to heavier rock. Not big on metal or punk either...some of it's ok though. As for country...it can be enjoyable, but I don't make a habit out of it, and probably can't match too many songs to the people who sing them. But I do listen to it on occasion. I would like to add, though, that classifying music in genres is stupid and useless, and I only did it for the sake of this thread.

Music Survey

Haha, look five posts above, I already am that ;) -
To be honest, the only band I can think of that is still recording that I would list as "generic rock" would be The Tea Party. Everything else has drifted into one of the many sub-categories of rock, from pop-rock, to whiny boy bands imitating punk rock (aka. Emo), to rap-rock, to hard rock, to metal; among several others.

U2 Yet Again
miles2025 replied to firestorm701's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
One: Best song ever. Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses + So Cruel + The Fly: Best three consecutive songs ever. Zoo Station: Best way to open an album ever. Therefore... Achtung Baby: Best album ever. -
My favourite band also ;) Their last two albums have been average at best. But Pop is my second favourite of theirs!! So underrated. Achtung Baby is the best though, and yes, they were much better in the 80's.

I also can't see some. Some, when i click on "watch the video", does nothing except jump to the top of the page, and some I download in .rm format? I can't watch those either.

U2
miles2025 replied to failingtherorshachtest's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I really enjoy it, but it's kind of like All That You Can't Leave Behind. It's definitely not their greatest. My favourite songs are Sometime you can't make it on your own, Lova and Pace or Else, Crumbs from your Table, and Original of the Species. Ugh...I would write a better response but I have a major headache and a final tomorrow and would rather kill myself. U2 rocks. -
I can't get in because too many people have logged on in the past 24 hours ;) Could I get them some other way off you? Pleeeeeease MSN: [email protected] e-mail: [email protected] or [email protected] (both have tremendously huge storage) Thanks in advance!

At this very second, it's Poor Man's Grey. Ask me again some other time, and I might respond Empty Road, Alert Status Red, Fell in Love with a Bad Idea, or North American for Life.

What's Your Favorite "rare" Mg/mbg Song(s)?
miles2025 replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Matthew Good
I like a bunch, but the one that sticks out, it "As Long as You're Mine". It's the first one I stumbled upon that introduced me to The History Teacher, and since then, it's been my favourite. It's so poetic, so well written. Matt's never done many love songs, but when he does, they're awsome. Parable is a distant second. Great tune and sound to that song. "Take your whore lips and make me slowly in the image of your perfection". Awsome. -
"While people in Iraq perish we go to the movies and wait for the final episode of Friends and I think that says a lot about how unbelievably controllable we have become. That those that speak out against what is currently going on should be considered crazy or should know when to shut up says a lot about how propagandized we’ve truly become." I think I used this in an essay before ;)

Weapon!! This was much easier than Prime Time Deliverance vs. Stange Days.
