Hey, everyone. I just wanted to let anyone who didn't see my original post that I still have two tickets for the Enoch (Edmonton) show available. They're front row. I bought them, because I was worried a particular person wouldn't get a chance to buy them when the original presale opened up. However, it turned out to be all good. I will gladly sell them at face value (or even below to the fans of this forum.) Send me a message if you need a couple front row tickets.

I think it's funny how the digital copy of the album is tagged as "I Still Miss New Wave: Beautiful Midnight Revisted" when you play it in a media player. It's impossible to listen to these reexaminations without any emotional attachment to the originals. Judging them on their own merit is difficult, but I think I like Let's Get It On the best. The original version is one of my favorite songs in the MG oeuvre. He took the new one in a completely different direction, so I can enjoy the new vocal delivery without mourning the original plaintive style. Born to Kill is cool too. The latter has a more atmospheric feel to it than the hard intense original. I also really like the slow acoustic-driven take on Load Me Up. I know a lot of us are fortunate to have seen Matt live on multiple occasions. Hearing the original at every show, and as a radio mainstay sort of burned it out for me. I like having a new take on it, for sure.

In case anybody is interested, I bought two extra in section D, front row, for anybody who couldn't get tickets. I will pass them on to you for face value. I got row 4, center section for my fiancee and I and her friend. If anyone is interested in my extra ones, PM me.

HEY GUYS, I figured it out. The presale password is "matthewgood" all lowercase. GET THEM NOW.

I'm having the same problem for Edmonton. When I first jumped on, there were front row tickets available, so I was like, "perfect!" However, they're all getting hoovered up by whoever has the working password. This totally sucks. Plus, I called Ticketmaster to see if I could order over the phone, I waited on their automated call line and got disconnected.

Who is organizing the strategic vote for certain songs to be played in soundcheck?
-
I managed to get three tickets for Calgary in one of the off-center sections, and two third row in Red Deer. I'd like to get Nanaimo tickets as a gift for my sister, but it doesn't look like that show is up for sale yet.

The mix was noticeably good. I always thought there was something overpowering in the mix the last couple of tours and I think you can occasionally hear it in audience recordings. K-Days was great though. There was great separation between each instrument and the vocals.
-
I thought the sound was great. This was my 14th show and the first time I've seen Carmelina. I loved it, so that was the highlight for me. I was also really happy to see the Chaotic Neutral songs get an outdoor airing. I don't know which ones Matt will end up carrying over to the next tour, so we've got to get our fill now.

To be honest with you, if the shows were in my area, I probably would have gone to both. I was just curious. I wonder how much the venue charged. The small bar show I saw was $15, so I wonder why this one was so much more expensive.
-
Yeah, maybe somebody could explain why those tickets are so expensive. The last acoustic show I saw was $35, I think and the one before that was $15 at the door. I just think that "because he can" is not a great answer. If the revenue from the rest of the tour justifies the price - for example, he needed to play these extra shows to get to the point of profitability he wanted than that's ok. Music always has its business side.

Hey, Emma, I don't know if you caught what I wrote above. He's used it previously on the tour for acoustic performances. As far as song selection goes, I think we've got some pretty good surprises. Last tour I asked Matt about Born to Kill making a comeback, as he had posted that they were working on it. He told me they were just running out of steam near the end of the tour, which is understandable.
-
When I've seen him play Champions of Nothing, he's used an electric every time for full band performances. However, in Edmonton, he used the twelve string for Omissions of the Omen in the VIP acoustic set.
-
I have to think about it, but I think every show I've seen on this tour ranks above prior ones save for maybe one show. I just love seeing the tour evolve and seeing new songs find their ways into the setlist.
-
Is the Chaotic Neutral Tour trying to be the best Matthew Good tour ever? There have been a lot of interesting things happening this year.
-
I'm assuming they opened with Load Me Up tonight? Any Carmelina? The setlist shows it as either or. Oh, they played both! Sweet!

You never know what else he might have up his sleeve for Toronto. See, usually Vancouver gets the big end-of-tour blowout shows, but I think Toronto is going to get those this year since the tour is progressing in the other direction.
-
I think this tour has had a really nice variation in surprises and songs brought back from the past. The last two shows, with Carmelina and Blue Skies Over Bad Lands are a good representation of this. Toronto is going to get a good mix, I think.

The setlist on setlist.fm says they played Carmelina tonight and only played 11 songs. I'm guessing this will need some updating? http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/matthew-good/2015/maxwells-waterloo-on-canada-7bf29208.html#sfmses43bbafff

Emma, what sort of setlist changes were made? I'd be interested to know what was on the original one.
-
Last tour, I went to four shows and I still missed We're Long Gone. This time around, I saw three and I finished the album. I hope whoever's going tonight has a great time!

I think we got one of the best setlists of the tour in Calgary!
