99% of us is failures. I know that is bad Its the kind that they cant operate on I know its real slow honey, painful and real slow Syrofoam coffe cups and bad drugs that never work enough I know its real slow honey painful and real slow. When we were young and hit like hammers I'd wrap the nails in your hand. Well 99% of us is failure theres going back. I know its real slow honey painful and real slow. Black bird come, break of dawn the TV's on, I turn it off walk outside get in the car stare at the wheel and fall apart. I get it all the time, bright eyes to bat an eye behind but I know there jsut for show painful and just for show black rooms to ??? sit in white halls pace away for it I know its too slow honey painful and real slow. When we were young and hit like hammers I'd wrap the nails in your hands Were 99% of us is failure, theres no going back and I know its real slow honey painful and real slow blakbird come the break of day you swallow the shit that ppl say walk outside look at the sky ask it to follow tell why.

I thought there was one for a sec. I hit play again after it ended. But it turned out to only have taken me back to I'm a window. *edit* Anyone figure out whats being said at the start of Champions? I hate you <something> <something> <something> Love is a strong word lol another Taco Bell Shoes/Taco Gots you's/whatever debate is coming methinks

OKay Listened to it all and here is my review. Most likely his best album! (havefta listen to it many more times to be sure tho lol) Biggest (good) suprises. The new mixes on When Hollywood Runs outta Indians (Champions of Nothing) and She's in it for the money! Best parts of the album -Champions of Nothing -WHOLE THING Worst Parts -WHen it ends lol but seriously I'm not safer than a bank was odd I'll need to listen to it again. -Fact I have to wait a month to own this masterpiece now As I've said You can really feel Matt's emotions in the album which at the end of the day will make it that much greater! The covers were done extremly well. I actually will have to track down copies of the originals now to see what they sound like. Definatly tho a 5/5 AWESOME JOB MATT

OH NOES cause the rest of the album is AS GOOD!!! Hehehe I plan on listening to Champions 1 more time before I go to sleep Last song now ;)
-
OMG I love the new tempo to She's In It For The Money!!!!
-
ON that now. Its a different song. Pretty cool sounding ;) Ohhh so is I am not safer than a bank.

Ohhh just got too Moon Over Marin. I was wondering what the covers would be like. ITs actually really great. The albums been awesome so far a nice mix of upbeat and mellow songs. LIke I said before you can really feel MG's emotions in the songs as well which is really nice. (and not just cause it leads to better songs)

yeah I agree Pledge may get booted as best opening track Odette is a awesome song. OHHH and SPOILER (Highlight to View) Black Helicopters while similar to the one floating around has been revisited... and its again freaking awesome!!! ALmost half thru and the album definatly has potential to be his best IMO Hehe I dont wanna pre-order, I'll most likely tell my boss that I'll be late that day and be at Future Shop when it opens ;)
-
hehe at 10 here (12 EST) I was like okay I'm tired time for bed. Mad the mistake of checking to see if he was going to start the stream right away. I figured sometime tommorow night. But man-o-man its WELL worth it
-
I dunno so far this album seems a lot more real that WLRRR. Its like the music is coming more from the soul expressing true feelings than his brain trying to say a specific political message. *edit* I Love the line in born losers. "She'll never say flat out she don't want me"
-
My Thoughts as well. Hehe I plan on listening to this all day tommorow at work. My co-workers are going to be annoyed. Track 3: Metal Airplanes has potential to replace Blue Skies Over Badlands as my fav Matt Good sound "You know its true, theres nothing I can do about you" *edit* Yes, I agree crusader. Indians has a lot better sound to it than the one that was floating around a while ago.
-
PRETTY FREAKING AWESOME SO FAR!!! I like the new sound to When Hollywood Runs Out of Indians *edit* oh I guess its not called champions of Nothing ;) heheh should look at the track listing before naming songs
-
I was outta town that weekend *(#$!@$! Wasnt too happy that I missed it tho!

I heard Flashdance II on the radio one day at work, and it was a good thing as well. It prompted me to go to the record store and buy Loser Anthems. My friend is jelous that I have an orignal copy and he doesnt ;)
-
Ohhhh twas a tough choice. Both fantastic songs IMO. But I think War is over edges out Every name is my name by a smidge.
-
I love blue skies. Probally one of in not the fav song of mine. I listen to a live version of the song all the time from on of the bootlegs kicking around. Hearing it live was just amazing. One of those moments in life where you just wish you could replay over and over again.

The great thing about Matt's music, is that you can relate to it on so many levels. You can just sit and enjoy the music for being enjoyable, you can listen and experence intense emotional resonance with it, or you can listen to the lyrics and see the depth and intellegence that went in to them. For me the song will always be Everything is Automatic. It was actually the song that prompted me to go buy my first Matt Good CD. I was working early morning at Wendy's cooking bacon for the day (a job I wasnt paticularly found of) I was listening to the radio and EISA came on. Right then and there I decided after work I was going to stop and get the CD. Havent looked back since. I still hold that one of the best experenices in my life was to hear Blue Skies and Avalanche live last year. Absoultly amazing experence and its something I'll never forget. Theres too many of his songs that evoke emotion in me to list, but probally the most promonate is the Video for Strange Days. At the end the girl sacrifices herself to save a stranger that hadn't treated her all that nicely. Match that up with the dicotomy of Rich staring at the womens ass in the elevator before, and not paying attention while driving, you really have the best and worst of human nature.

Ahhhh its so nice to be done with school ;) Wait.... shit I dont get teh next 4 months off.... GRRR LIFE SUCKS!

I found this site www.googlism.com tried putting in Matthew Good it returned: "matthew good is one of the most notoriously opinionated men in the world of canadian rock music" lol I tried putting myself in and it returned "<my name> is correct" ;)
-
I put strange days as my vote, gave me shivers the first time I saw it, However weapon and apparitions are definatly a very close second
-
THe comment I have about TL&G is that everything sounded the same, now it could be the fact that their set up and lvl's wasnt that great, but it seemed like every song was very similar to the one before it. Hearing Blue Skies live was one of the best things I could've imagined. I love the song off of the album but like it was a million times better.
