U.s. Presidential Race

Ahhh yes but journey of 1000 miles begins with 1 step, or as you put it "A nudge in the right direction" No longer can we continue the politics of the last 30 years. -
The thing about this whole issue that really irked me was a couple years ago, that women in Florida who'd been brain dead but kept alive with the feeding tube for all those years. So it's okay to take the feeding tube out and then let the poor women starve to death. But it's NOT okay to give her a healthy dose of morphine and end it quickly?? I mean yeah its easier to distance yourself from the act of killing. Pulling the feeding tube could be construed as a negative (lack of) action leading to death as opposed to a positive action. But come on. Try starving your dogs and see what happens. I'm young and god forbid I get into a situation where these sort of decisions need to be made, but I've let my family know that if I'm ever a vegetable to pull the plug, and if I faced with the prospect of spending the rest of my life trapped in my body having MS, or bed ridden with cancer or well there's a million such cases. I'm not sure what I would do. However I would like to know that IF I decided that it was time to end my life, that I would have the option to do so in a civilized, human manner.

gotta admit, first time since I heard FF13 was coming out for xbox that I've been tempted to go out and get a PS3... Oh well can't afford it right now.

So I gather watching the news today that Washington State during the election had a resolution on whether to legalize Assisted Suicide or not, and it passed. Granted I know very little about the details of the resolution but I'm curious what people think about this issue. Personally I think we are kinda messed up on the whole issue. I know its a slippery slope and all. But forcing people to endure great suffering in order to maintain the mantle of all human life is precious is preposterous. Never mind the fact that it is their lives and people should be able to decide for themselves. But it goes deeper than that. One can be charged with a crime for prolonging a sick animals life. But yet the idea of allowing someone to make the descion to end their own suffering is deplorable?? Why is it human to end an animals suffering, but a crime to end our own?? (Last year a woman here was charged, not sure what came out of it, with animal cruelty, as her sons hamster had gotten really sick. Now I gather the human society will help put to sleep animals but it still costs money, and this women frankly couldnt afford the fee right away. When she finally could weeks after the hamster got sick and she brought the hamster in to be put to sleep, the human society started to raise a ruckus over the issue.)

I too half expected there to be some form of violence or terrorism yesterday. Prehaps this means the Americans fear driven politics may come to an end??? -

I have to admit. I never thought that in our life times that we would ever see a black president. Okay call me cynical. In some respects the fact that this has happened gives me hope. Hope that the world can over come our differences and to begin to move forward, not as a collection of states, but a world as a whole. Here's hoping that Obama begins North America onto a path that will fix the flaws in our society. Here's hoping that world will be a significantly better place 4 years from now. Here's to the future. Congratulations Obama Congratulations USA -
with work we use godaddy. A lot of other registars are actually just re-sellers of godaddy. Plus there are some other reasons which most likely you'd never need to know ;)
-
wow I'm jealous of all of you. I just got my notification that its being shipped... Although it is one of those snazzy signed copies.
-
What ToadMan said is correct. You pay your fee's on a regular basis. However the fee isn't so much for you to "own" to domain url as much as it goes to having godaddy to maintain and propagate your dns entry around the world.

Recieving Faxes On Computer

bah you guys are making it way more complicated than it needs to be. http://home.efax.com/ e-Fax is the simplest solution ;) -
okay I'm all done. Shared my blood! Worst part, in terms of pain, was getting your finger pricked so they can test your blood to make sure you have enough iodine. Worst part for me was waiting, after they talked to me and went through all the questions. Sitting there watching the people lie there having their blood taken. Then when it was my turn, sat down in the chair, and they almost didn't let me do it. The nurse told me (as I was obviously super stressed out) that sometimes for first donors if they're looking too stressed they actually wont let you donate. SO I had to convince her I was okay. Then there's this little "pinch" and that's it. Spent the rest of the time laughing at myself for being so worried about it.

Just had my finger pricked. Sitting here waiting for the big show. Wish me luck. Lol I'm havin cold sweats

Yes that was a mental images I could've done w/o...

my theory on copying something that you own and paid for legitimately from 1 format to another is that it is perfectly okay. I mean how would you feel if you bought a new car and then found out you could only drive it on Avenues, so you have to buy another car to drive on streets, and another car to take on the highways? Crazy right? I firmly believe that record companies probably understand that the argument that you should have to rebuy songs over and over again is crazy, but they see it as way to increase their profits.

yeah I'm O- myself. Universal donator  Lol I'll spend the next 20hours pyschicing myself up ;)
-
how freaking big is the needle? lol does it hurt. lol truthfully the thought about doing it is making me a little sick to my stomache.
-
So they're having a blood donor clinic like a 5 min walk from my place. I'm really tempted to go, I've always wanted to do it. But heres the thing I have an irrational fear of needles. Anyone given blood before? Can you give a little insight into the process???

Hehe I use AVG cause its free and relatively non-invasive. Its not like norton and going to slow down your system noticeably. It does sound like a power supply issue but I'm not really a hardware guy so I cant say for sure. Try making a post on forums.techguy.org Usually someone will step forward and help you out. As far as is it worth fixing? It depends on what the specs are, and if you can afford a new comp ;) -
yes Albertan taco's >>>>>> Albertan sausages ;) But thats just MY opinion  My father works of an Canadian division of an American company, and every so often he has to go down to Huston. Some of the stories he's told about the sizes of "small" steaks the they get served down there makes me sick just to think about it. lol no wonder Houston's so fat  *edit* fixed spelling mistake

for my Grandmothers 90th birthday we took her to Ruth Chris's steak house. Which apparently is some hugely famous high end steak house from the states. OF course they only serve (as they put it) Grade A prime FDA beef. OMG the worst tasting steak I've ever had in my entire life!!!! Alberta beef is soooooo much better lol Okay to be fair I suppose its just what you're used to but grain fed beef >>>>>> corn fed anyday ;)

Not necessarily. When you boot into safe mode a lot of the hardware on the computer isnt actually turned on, OR is working in a very limited fashion. But alas the only real way to know is to try and reformat your computer and see if it works ;) Be wary though my old computer had what sounds like similar issues and when I tried to reload xp onto it, I found out that the hard drive was pooched. (Luckily I had all my files on another hard drive and was able to install xp onto that). That being said. I would also take a look at your surfing habits. In all the time I've been using computers I've had 3 viruses latch onto my comp. 1 was the blaster worm and wasnt my fault lol the other 2 well ya they were my fault going to sites that I knew weren't safe. Is your computer behind a router? If not make sure windows firewall is on, or even better just go get a router for $50. DO you use IE?? If so switch to Firefox. It took me a week or so to get used to FF but having made that switch... I'd never ever go back. Heck I got mad at the Dell guy when he suggested I upgrade to IE7 lol -

When windows boots and loads the bios there are 3 things you can change. Pushing F2 (usually) will take you into the bios menu F5 will take you to "where do you want to boot from" F8 gives you the windows boot stuff (boot to safe mode etc) If F5 is not working try going into the bios menu. Now while in there be very careful cause if you fuck it up there really is no way to fix it. You want too look for something like Boot order. (it can be called a variety of stuff) This tells the computer where to look for the OS. Usually it is set to: Floppy Drive (if you comp still has one) Hard Drive CD Drive What you'll want to do is change the order so that the CD Drive is at the top. Save the BIOS and reboot with the WinXP disks in the Drive. This time around the BIOS should automatically load the winXP Installer from the disks with out you having to do anything. Hope that helps. Oh alternatively you can try booting into safemode w/ networking. Download and install AVG ANTIVIRUS. Run a virus scan using that and see if you can't figure out why you're having issues in the first place. Also if you do just re-format I would highly recommend downloading AVG and just having it around doing updates and the like. Its pretty good at catching stuff. Theres the odd virus it can detect but not deal with, but if you at least know what you're up against you can figure out how to remove it ;)
