Yeah, every show I've seen in the last three years is the same. Just look for the bus. That's where you'll find them. Wait a few minutes and Matt and co will usually come out and say hello, sign stuff etc. Last year Matt sat on the bus steps and everyone got th chance the say hello without crowding him. It was nice. They're easy to meet if you just look for the bus. It was teal green before. I don't know what it is now though. I'll find out on November 1st!

Yeah, funny how that happens, eh? When I was 16, I kept everything in pristine condition. Now I just can't be arsed to care. I put a "Trust Us" sticker on my water bottle last year. It's funny how I have to gaurd the thing with my life...so many people have tried to jack it while I wasn't looking. 5 years ago, I wouldn't have dreamt of actually *using* the sticker. >OMG! I can't do that!< I was a friggen' retard.

Especially when the tracks were just made available on IAC. Loser Anthems sold for $6.99 when it was released. I bought 5 copies and have since given them all away (except 1). It's stupid how much that shit goes for. eBay is addicting. Get out NOW while you still can!

I found the Canadian HTB single in a used record store for $3. I bought the Aussie HTB single at HMV, and I got the US HTB single on eBay for $5. eBay used to be a great place for MG stuff...but its gained in popularity and now everything is *really* expensive. I have the advance version of Underdogs which I got for $15 US, Indestructible, Raygun (US), Apparitions, Rico, and the Future is X-Rated. I want Everything is Automatic, but I don't want to pay $70US for it. I have none of the AOB or post-band singles except the IAWCC thing. I also got a copy of "15 Hours.." in a dutch auction *many* years ago. eBay is good. Not as good as it used to be, but still good.

I have a *shameful* wall. I starting building it when I was 13, and it's sort of escilated into....what it is now. These are the posters. I have 11 in total (one isn't in the pictures because it's above the desk, but it's the American BM Tour promo...). The wall used to have all sorts of Chart magazine shit on it as well, but I took all that down with the photographs and just put the posters up. Oh well, since we're sharing: (I had to squish the two pictures together in paint, so they look like shit.)

I met you last year...I can't remember what show it was. But you and my friend Robin take the award for most shows attended EVER. However, cosier doesn't always equal better. Wild Bills = cosy 18+ NIGHTMARE. The show at Mac Hall last fall was LEAGUES better in comparison. I agree with the all ages thing though. Even 16+ would be better than tripping over sodding kiddies.

I just listened to your cover of PTD...and I think it says something about your talent that I was able to listen to it all the way through. It's been my favorite song since the record was released and it's taken me a few days to get up the courage to listen to your cover. You have done the song justice. Good job:)

Hey, there will be tonnes of us there, so no need to be lonesome. We'll merge into some free hippie-esque Matthew Good loving community.....or something. This will be my...13th or 14th show. I can't remember and I'm too lazy to count ticket stubs. In all that time, I've never met up with anyone from any version of a MG message board, despite having been a member of ALL of them at one point or another. I think it's time to buck the trend.

I realize this is completely off topic in this thread, but the fucking C-Train is MORE packed at that hour that I've ever seen it in my life. I'm a 3rd year student (well...offically at any rate), and I've taken the train in the morning everyday for the last four years at that same hour, and HOLY FUCK is it bad this year. It reminds me of boarding the train in Japan at times... Most of my classes this year are afternoon and evening courses, so I get to skip over that particular brand of rush hour. But you have fun with that...I'll content myself with fighting for seating with bitchy office wives even though they're carrying paperback ripper novels and I have a bag pull of 50 pound textbooks and a heavy as fuck laptop computer....(finishing my rant now) On a MG note, I've converted everyone I know on campus into fans. (There, now it's on topic) ;)

It's my Campus as well:) I'm sad though, because I have a seminar class on Tuesday nights, and I have to find some way of convincing the Prof that I can't attend that evening. The show just had to be in Mac Hall! The class goes drinking in the Den (campus pub, which is literally beside the concert hall) after each session, so I know I'll be found out. "Oh yeah...my appointment? Yeah, it was with MG." I haven't missed a show in this town in the past seven years, so I'm not about to miss this one. It's just inconvenient. Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll start his set late. ;)

I disagree. I think the fact that PTD is one of the oldest songs on the reworked list (and the one that has the longest gap since it was ever played live) has to be taken into account. The original version of the song is perfect as far as I'm concerned. I guess I like this new version because it's a testament of how Matt has been able to rediscover and rework a song from his past, especially one that he's distanced himself from for so long. Listening to the track, and the effects that he's added to it, one can easily see that there are new depths to his take on the song lyrics, not to mention how he's approached it vocally. Listening to the vocals, one can easily note the changes Matt's voice has gone through in the last eight years, and how he might have stuggled with approaching the piece again. All that said, I'm delighted with it. I can see how it wouldn't be a favorite for some, but my attatchment to that song (in all it's forms) is quite high. Just my 2 cents.

And ? Is It What You've Expected ?
Nearfantastica replied to Peter from Holland's topic in Matthew Good
It's gorgeous. I almost had a fit when I listened to the reworking of PTD, which has been my favorite song since I was 14...there were almost tears involved. It must be that kind of day. It's nice to see they spent some money on him...the packaging is nice, as are Dave Porter's words. I'm pleased:) -
As of this morning, that was still only showing one result...Matthew something, and it wasn't Good. Grayson Matthews or something like that. EDIT: Yep, still nothing. Searching for a Motoroloa V265, what phone are you using? I'm using a Samsung SCH-650. I didn't even think of the differences in availability based on the phone model. *so blonde* Well, hopefully some more results will turn up for you shorty.

If you go to the mytelusmobility website and do a search for matthew good under ringtones and images, the whole list should pop up. I've had HTB for a few weeks, but I've been waiting for Joyful. I'm happy to see it's on there.

The Shawshank Redemption (best movie ever) The Red Violin Pulp Fiction The Spitfire Grill The Little Mermiad Batteries Not Included Empire Strikes Back Lord of the Rings Revenge of the Sith Robin Hood Prince of Thieves The Island *I know it's new, and it's directed by Michael Bay (which translates to mass cultural appeal aka CRAP), but for some reason it entertained the hell out of me. *shrug* must be the mass appeal.

I have all 3 as well...I used to spend WAY too much money on that kind of crap.

I realize this is months after the fact (I also just realized this board had a trading section...I should learn to pay attention), but if anyone is still feeling generous and these account invitations still exist, I'd appreciate a hand-out. If you're more inclined to share because you'll gain something, I have pretty much every MG track you could ever want, and no problems with sending them out. My email is [email protected] should anyone feel so inclined. Thanks

Well, his Stampede set was slightly shorter than his normal "club" set, so I'd expect this to be the same. He'll probably play for a bit more than an hour, then quit to face the mob waiting for pictures, etc.

The Offical Unoffical Live Song Petition
Nearfantastica replied to 5ilent Narcotic's topic in Matthew Good
I've seen Matt play in Southern Alberta 11 times. At every single one of those shows, he's played Hello Time Bomb. At 99% of them, we've gotten Apparitions (the 1% where it wasn't played it still appeared on the set list, but an accident prevented the set from being completed). These are the big "hits" and are necessary in order to attract the fans who show up because they recognize a song from the radio. I don't mind them, because there's so much energy in the crowd when they're played, and it's one of the few cases where every single person in the audience can usually sing along. But the petition has a point, and since Matt has reached this point in his career where he's doing his "so far so good" type album, and looking back to reflect on his past, the petition has some relevance. I don't think Matt will seriously take it into consideration, but adding your name to something you agree with can't do any harm either. So when he plays HTB at Klondike Days, I'll cheer and sing along with the crowd...but when he breaks out into an acoustic rendition of Prime Time Deliverance, I'll stare at the stage in shock for a minute, and then remember how it felt the *first* time I heard him play HTB, and the event will be that much more special. -
As far as I recall, Klondike Days is just "Stampede II" and at the Stampede all you do is pay gate admission, and then walk in to the stage...it's first come first served on who gets prime viewing space. Someone from Edmonton please correct me if I'm wrong.

I heard Symbolistic White Walls on the campus radio one afternoon, and I thought it was pretty catchy, but with a bit of looking around realized that it was impossible to find on CD (The guys at A&B weren't very helpful when it came to "custom orders" back then). It wasn't until a year or so later when I saw the EIA video, and then I picked up Underdogs without much trouble. At the time, I thought shelling out $25 for a CD was a bit much, but it's still the best $25 I ever spent. Finding Ghetto Astronauts was a bit easier at that point as well.

Best Buy will retail it for less than $20 I bet. I double album usually retails for about $17.99 within the first week of release. Either the DVD or one of the CD's will likely be limited edition, given Universal's penchant for "limited" crap. Either that, or people will get lucky and they'll pull an Elton John. His "Best Of" has two discs and a dvd....though the dvd is minor in comparison to what Matt appears to be planning. Still, if you pick it up as soon as it's released, there's no possible way it'll retial for more than $30. Unless you only have HMV at your disposal for record purchases. *I'm not an HMV fan* $24.99 max....
