It was because they apparently had an insane amount of new material that wouldnt fit on just one CD, so therefore 2 are coming out, so I would imagine that the CD's are more than 40 minutes long. Dont quite know why the 2 seperate CD's though. Maybe the record label said no.

I think that the first album (caled "hypnotize") is coming out in march, and then the second album (called "mezmorize") will be out in July. Not totally sure on this one though.

Its incredibly true that bands being in rough times create great CD's. Theres too many to name here. Look at "in utero" by nirvana or "rocks" by aerosmith. The list goes on and on.
