Panic Button Live
THE MAN replied to Scot's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Out of curiosity, when you say your doing echoes, does that mean you do the pink floyd cover or is it original with the same name? -

Holly Mcnarland
THE MAN replied to Matt's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
She has quite a few good songs. I personaly have not heard "flight recorder from viking 7" though, so i have no idea what she sounds like with Matt. I have heard the song she did with limblifter though, and I really liked that -
To me, annabelle seems like it could've worked on Avalanche. thats just me though.

Is it a cause for celebration? If it is i shall bring out the cake.

its incredibly easy, trust me. Just find the base notes of a song, and build the chords off that. After a while you get to learn songs by ear, without even needing the song. You just might have a bit of a hard time at first, but its much easier in the end. plus i would say that a good 40% of tabs are wrong. probobly more. The only problem is that you cant tell they are wrong because you become tone deaf.

Canadian Idol
THE MAN replied to X-Rated Truffle Pig's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I dont watch it, but I really doubt that someone from American idol Jr., I mean Canadian Idol could sound like matthew good. Anyone with a voice like Matt's would be to unique and enjoyable. They want people who you cant tell them apart if you close your eyes and simply listen. -
The Best Albums Of 2004
THE MAN replied to spiritofeden's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
I cant remember if the new Sloan CD "action pact" came out in '03 or '04. if its was this year, then I would add that. I really enjoyed the CD, but not as much as "between the bridges" -
You could always learn the song by ear...you know, without tabs. Its really a lost art ive found

Is Punk Dead?
THE MAN replied to THE MAN's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Well let me kind of rephrase this, sorry. The Sex Pistols were by far the most important punk band, i just personally think they were also the best. The Clash is also a strong conteder for #1 -
Knowing What everyone was like in MGB, i figure that he left on his own will, and Rich came in because he was the bass player for Dave Genn's old band, Dead Surf Kiss (aka: DSK)

Although I dont think annabelle shouldve been on WLRRR, Hopeless is WAY better than annabelle, and it deservd to be on the CD

Is Punk Dead?
THE MAN replied to THE MAN's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
How were they not? Not only was The music Punk, but They had a total punk attitude. They were total A**holes and were really stupid. -
Ya, what could be so bad about Deep Six?
-
It was the band Dave Genn and Rich Priske were in before MGB. They were the self proclaimed "Most disfunctional band in canada". they were really good too. And if you want more pre Matthew Good bands then check out Christian Thor Valdson's "Copyright" (Matt wants to do a Copyright song, but Christian doesnt seem to want to) or Pat Stewards "The Odds", which is actually quite popular. they had the song "someone who is cool". hope that helps you out somehow.

Who Do You Think Is The Most Talented Musician?
THE MAN replied to Devil On Rollerskates's topic in Matthew Good
As far as song credits for Audio Of Being, i believe that "Tripoli" was written by Matthew Good, "The Fall of Man" and "Under The Influence" was written by Matthe Good, Dave Genn, Rich Priske, and Ian Browne, and the rest was Matthew Good/Dave Genn. -
Is Punk Dead?
THE MAN replied to THE MAN's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Anything now of days that is claimed punk is so far from it its sickening. and when it was alive punk was SUCH an attitude. If you ever read some of the things that the sex pistols did (THE greatest punk band) youll see why bands are not punk now of days. and if you want to say that there would be no "alternative" if there wasnt punk, then technically there wouldnt be any kind of rock at all if it wasnt for blues or jazz 70 years ago. all rock music is spawned from that. And People who claim to be punks now that dress up like punks and buy the good charolette CD's and dye thier hair black are simply people that want to buy thier way into being different. its the same thing as all those "wiggers" that want to have an identity, but in the end are still just middle class, urban white guys that cant look at themselves in the mirror. well thats my opinion anyway
