  1. You've Got To Hide Your Love Away - The Beatles
  2. Corm, I'd like to echo everyone else in wishing you luck, you certainly deserve to have things work out for you after everything that has happened.
  3. I'm guessing they're listing their favourites ... I could name 11 songs I think are good or great.
  4. I used to record songs off the radio when I was a kid. I still burn mix CDs for my girlfriend. Yup.
  5. Yeah, that is a really awesome thing for Matt to do...he doesn't have to, but he understands how respect (should) works. It goes both ways, and respect and/or kindness is rewarded with the same in return. That entry he just made is spot on. It's a lot more than just supporting an artist by buying albums/tickets/merch, he shouldn't have to cater to anyone, and I think a lot would agree that if he tried to, he would get even less respect.
  6. Yeah, someone could post a list completely different from mine and it would still be great.
  7. Well I guess since you say he's more into singer/songwriter stuff, I would focus on that aspect of MG's work...though really most of what he does even if it includes roaring guitars and/or string sections, is singer/songwriter stuff...hmmm Prime Time Deliverance Avalanche Apparitions Suburbia Born Losers Strange Days A Single Explosion Metal Airplanes On Nights Like Tonight House Of Smoke And Mirrors She's Got A New Disguise A Silent Army In The Trees The Fine Art Of Falling Apart Running For Home Sort Of A Protest Song Of course I could put a ton more, Blue Skies, Change Of Season, The Boy Come Home etc.
  8. One could also argue that "record" is synonymous with "album", and an album could be in any format...
  9. On Nights Like Tonight - Matt Good
  10. Ride The Lightning - Metallica
  11. 1) 1. Massey 2. Underdogs 3. Rooms 2) The Workers Sing a Song of Mass Production 3) A Boy and His Machine Gun (there are some really tough match ups this round, love Life Beyond) 4) Us Remains Impossible 5) Odette (damn, really tough one, love Omissions) 6) Fearless (tough one) 7) Life In Spite of Itself 8) Born to Kill (BM) 9) Strange Days (BM) 10) Weapon (Avalanche)
  12. Star Trek (only great Trek film since First Contact) The Dark Knight Batman Begins Revenge Of The Sith (lack of story logic and bad dialogue aside, just spectacular) Iron Man Shaun of the Dead Dawn of the Dead Zombieland Napoleon Dynamite Lord of the Rings trilogy A Beautiful Mind Gladiator Spider-Man 1 & 2 The Girl Next Door The 40-Year-Old Virgin Michael Moore documentaries Harold & Kumar (both) Taken Bourne trilogy Anchorman Casino Royale Night Watch 300 Sin City The Life Of David Gale Matrix sequels Saw Blood Diamond Good Night, And Good Luck Hotel Rwanda Syriana Wedding Crashers V For Vendetta Fido Juno Gran Torino Religulous District 9 Into The Wild edit: holy crap, that's a long list
  13. Damn straight. The whole Binaural album is underrated I think. Going All The Way - Matt Good Band
  14. Actually, I'm pretty sure I saw in an interview in the MGB days that he does want others to give the songs their own meaning, that if he were to explain what he were thinking when he wrote a song it might be be completely different than what you thought and it would lessen the fan's personal connection to the song. He has made some exceptions though.
  15. this Gonna agree about Blue Skies, Pledge, and Fated, and add the "oh" in Volcanoes before it gets heavy. edit: And the "1...2...3...4" in Tripoli.
  16. Room a Thousand Years Wide - Soundgarden
  17. Yeah the unprocessed feel of that album is definitely part of it's appeal.
