Yeah, McCain is going to use all of this in November against whoever the nominee is. "You guys aren't united bla bla." At least if it's Obama he can say "She was attacking me. I took the moral high ground" and then grill McCain on the war. 5 years!! -
Macs Turning Off

Shutting down is where it's not even on, blacking out is where it's dormant (black screen, grey screen, something like that) but the hard disk is still searching/processor is running/etc. Usually the blacking out can be cured by flipping the case up and down, but it seems like your situation might be more complex. I would call Apple if it's still acting up; your hard disk could have gotten corrupted by a program it didn't agree with. An Apple rep told me that a vast percentage of all problems with Macs are due to corruption... And at least they're nice even if they're in India. ;) Again, I'm not sure about your power situation, but it doesn't sound like the battery is dead. You seem like a smart person, too, but sometimes people do forget to plug that shit up. In fact, my HP power cord comes in 2 parts, and for a few hours I thought the cord was broken. I kept checking the connection to the wall socket and to the computer. Turns out it was disconnected in the middle. I know Mac cords are all in one piece, but you know what I mean - pebkac (personal error between keyboard and chair). ^^ -
Oh god. That would take so long.

That actually happens to my boyfriend a lot, but it boots back up after a few tries of opening and closing the case at 10 second intervals. If you call Apple, they will suggest that you hold down the start key for 10 seconds in order to reboot. If that doesn't work, they will tell you to disconnect all accessories and cords, then plug back in only the power cord. Then they will tell you to press the power button while holding the mouse or "pointer" down OR while holding the "c" key on the keyboard. If none of that works, they will go "hmmmmm." That's all I know. Good luck. -

Dan #2: *blink* That's a little exaggerated, but I have the same kind of fears sometimes. It just doesn't seem like a good idea to me for there to be "dynasties" or any kind of nepotism. Mix it up a bit! And Hillary I think would just be bad; she's got so many things she's trying to hide from us. You guys know what I found out today from my Geography professor? Well, you don't, but I'm gonna tell you: John McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone. The rest of this article is kinda wonky but see here: http://www.newsmax.com/lowell_ponte/John_M...7/16/18349.html -
Kid Rock is coming to my school and tickets are $2. Too bad I don't listen to him. Good luck on finding the song!

Spyware And Associated Riskzzz

I agree with Zukiki; just put the case down and it will go to sleep. I dunno what kind of computer you have, but I have an HP so I can also flip the switch on the front left of the base to turn off the wireless card. As jtb said, your computer should have Windows Defender already. In addition to the Defender, I use AVG anti-virus (free online), Spybot Search and Destroy (free online), and Spysweeper (subscription; I wouldn't recommend it too much - it was a gift). I used to use AdAware SE on my XP too, but it doesn't like Vista too much. >.< Run those puppies regularly and you should be in tip-top shape. -
haha My Grammy lives in Florida actually. *shakes fist*
