Wow, amazing. Even though I've heard all the demos, the finished product is still stunning. "Volcanoes" and "Empty's Theme Park" are beautiful beyond words.
-
Those are great! Huge thanks to Jane for sharing!

I'd be shocked if he did any US dates with a band (outside of Buffalo.) I flew to BC to see him in Victoria and Nanaimo last year, and I figure I'll have to do it again. (Woe is me... ;) )

Thanks for finding and linking those vids. They really are awesome. Must add to the expressions of hair love! C'mon Matt, you should grow your hair out again like that! ;)
-
That would be amazing! I strongly encourage this idea. Please. ;)

I'll never be able to see or hear Nickelback again without thinking of this. (NSFW)

So now that I have access to the CD insert, it says "bag drugs," so not so obvious after all, huh? Guess that means 99% of us is failure.
-
I still think it's "Bad drugs that never work enough" referring to chemotherapy drugs, which have horrendous side effects, and unfortunately often don't work well enough.
-
I thought David Cook did a great job on "Innocent."
-
None of the videos will play for me, possibly because I'm in the US? If you know of another link, or you can rip it and upload it, let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for posting the set list. I thought it was a great show. The sound and the venue were very good, but I agree that the crowd seemed a bit subdued. I was in the second row and I felt like I was the only person singing along and rocking out! Still, I loved every minute of it, and was grateful (and a little starstruck!) that I got to meet Matt and get a picture with him after the show. He was incredibly pleasant and charming, and it just made the night even better.

If you have bit torrent capability, I'm seeding an acoustic show from March over on Dime: [hide_me]http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=188842[/hide_me]

Looks like Matt read your post.
-
Thank you so much...I was afraid no one would record any of these shows. I'll download it and help seed over at Dime!
-
Boy, you would think that people would clue in eventually that the humor in that is long gone.

It points to some bizarre video site called kai motion as of 2300 PDT. ;)
-
Hearing Suburbia, Prime Time Deliverance, A Single Explosion, and Running For Home would alone be worth the ticket price right there!
-
Well, I would say those are two very different categories. Matt can say or not say whatever he'd like about his personal life and not have it up for discussion. But talking about the music is fair game...for any artist who releases it publicly.
-
I'm new, so I didn't know that was the story, but I could see him doing it as a goof for his friend, AND wanting to share it with fans, without ever intending to release it officially. Be tough to get radio play. ;)
-
True, but how can you not like a song with the chorus "Love: It will fuck you up! If it hasn't done it already." ;)
-
I agree. I really liked the little snippit of the song we heard when he was demonstrating Garage Band in his Flickr video. It's nice to hear a little harder edge to the music.

I was about to suggest Amazon, but I see that Amazon.ca doesn't sell computers. You could save about $100 if you have a friend across the border: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013FPYR...ef?ie=UTF8&s=pc Still doesn't solve the financing issue though. :-(

Full Disclosure: Long time Mac user and proponent. I agree with Prosis's analysis. The Macbook Air is only useful as a travel machine. the lack of an optical drive and the relatively small storage are potentially crippling. For $1500 you can get a MacBook that will do everything you need for many years. Yes, they tend to be pricier, but they become obsolete much slower as well. My 7 year old iMac can run all of the current software, for example (albeit slowly -- I now just use it as a jukebox and DVD player in front of my treadmill. :-) ) Outside of Office for Mac and Photoshop, there's not a lot of software you'll need to buy-- iPhoto is a very powerful program, and there is tons and tons of freeware and shareware available for just about any task you might need to do. (For that matter, you could use OpenOffice and GIMP for free.) I've never bought the warranty and never needed it. My iBook G4 has been all over the world by plane and boat and has held up remarkably well. I've never used Apple's financing, so I can't speak to that. Good luck. Be sure to post what you decide.

Thanks for the lyrics. If I'm not mistaken that last verse is new. At least I can't recall that I've heard it on any of the live versions of the song that I've heard.
