  1. Haha nothing to do with Matt, But still hilarious. When I read Foats comments about the embarassing girl molesting her old boyfriend I scrolled down to Krista and instead of reading what she was quoting I just started reading her comments which start off with "yup that was me :) " haha
  2. bootlegged video, no probably not much your right. But MuchMusic seems to have taped quite a few shows, or at least parts of shows over the year, MGB was all over that channel in the late 90's/early 00's. Your right about not much taping going on in Canada, even at big stadium shows it is seriously rare to find recordings being made. During Roger Waters 2010 The Wall tour I remember something like every show being taped and released as a torrent with the exception of like 1 or 2 and Vancouver was one of them.
  3. It is surprising to me how little is on youtube, I mean it was the 90's, there were cameras everywhere, I mean you can find 8mm film of Led Zeppelin everywhere and that was with the threat of Peter Grant throwing you down a flight of stairs if caught, and yet Matthew Good band footage is limited to basically Load Me Up from the MMVA's. Does universal or someone request this footage be taken down, or is it just that fans have never uploaded any of this?
  4. There is a part of it at least on youtube
  5. sounds like what Foats is talking about with his "meet a rockstar" segment.
  6. So watching the Biography on the Matthew Good Band on youtube I noticed quite a few clips from different shows that the band played that don't seem to be readily available elsewhere on the net. There is footage of the band playing live in the Much studio from what looks like around 1996 as Matt has blonde hair, and there is a few other clips from 2000 one from what looks like a festival in Ottawa and another from a show in April in Nanaimo with clips from Giant, Rico and Running for Home. Another black and white clip has the band playing Everything is Automatic live at an unknown venue. I know how hard it is to find footage of MGB around these days, youtube only offers Load Me Up from the 2000 MMVA's. But Much Music clearly filmed at least portions of several shows over the years, does anyone know where I could find more of this footage, or have any information on it (as in were these complete concerts broadcast on TV or just snippets from shows?) has anyone ever tried contacting Much Music in regards to this footage?
  7. Yeah more than likely I am using the term B-side Incorrectly, I am referring to any song that is a complete song that is a stand alone song. I realize many songs were partial and then later changed into other songs. Of course that opens up debates on songs that used the same lyrics, But were two completely different musical pieces. In regards to the last 2 albums, I would say songs like "Life In spite of Itself" "Darlin'" and "Die Like Kings" are some of the ones I've heard that stand on their own as songs. I know Matt posted snippets of songs as they were being created, But those are really incomplete, and were either finished, abandoned or altered. Its harder to explain then I thought it would be, I'm mostly just hoping for a list compiling everything into one place, we could debate on how to sort certain songs on that list, But I think it'd be a good reference point for anyone wanting to explore beyond the cd tracklists.
  8. I would love to see this done to see how much of a difference 2 years has made in peoples opinions of songs and how the new songs stack up against the others now that everyone has had almost a year to digest them.
  9. haha true enough. For most of the older albums it seems like the b sides are listed like "all together" and "pony boy" from AoB But there seem to be quite a few mentioned around here from the last couple of albums and some of them aren't in the lyrics section...if the lyrics are hard to make out would it be possible to post just the title and leave it unclickable. I just think having one page with as many known songs as possible would help people to know what they might be missing. I just found out about all together like 2 days ago, dont know how I missed it, but I'm sure there are others who have never heard of many of those songs.
  10. Well I think if they are a demo of a song that is different from that released on the album it should be included things in the vein of "hornets" "Keira Anne" "Darling" It seems like many things from the Loes recordings aren't there.
  11. There are so many demos, B-sides rarities alternate recordings and such its hard to keep track of, is there anyone who has a definitive list that they could post? I know the lyrics section has lots of information, But it is missing a fair amount from what I can see, and I'm sure there is more that I've never even heard of. I don't even know what songs I've never heard because there are so many out there and no real definitive checklist to use. The stuff on albums is obvious, But I'd like a list for the things not directly on any commercial album. All the Itunes bonus tracks, b sides, rarities, studio cuts, alternate takes and demos. Does anyone have this info?
  12. hmm, both shows were shorter than the Media show. Seattle was probably an hour and 45 minutes and Portland was maybe a little over 2 hours. Didn't notice anyone taping unfortunately, just lots of cameras and phones recording bits and pieces of songs.
  13. Setlists are up on setlist.fm....Order the songs are in is almost certainly incorrect, But what was played should be right.

    Setlists

I attended the secret show plus Seattle and Portland. I will be posting setlists tonight a little later. may not be in the right order but pretty sure I got all the songs right.
  15. haha I always hate when bands cut out the banter on their live albums...Matt's laser pointer bit is pretty hilarious. I remember getting a version of The Who;s Live at Leeds and it had cut out all the hilarious banter between songs, its strange, But it made me enjoy the album far less, the music was still phenomenal, But just the humourous interplay between the band really made that so complete and enjoyable, I still to this day can't listen to the intro to "A quick one while he's away" on that album without laughing.
  16. A few years ago an acoustic show at Massey Hall was recorded from what I've heard, But was unreleased and later a full band show was recorded at Massey Hall and officially released. I would love a live acoustic album as the songs vary so much from their studio forms and also you usually get sets filled with different kinds of rarities and some hilarious crowd interactions.
  17. This is why I have alot of respect for Matt's openness with his fans, blunt and honest and from the horses mouth. I can't tell you how many times I've sat on message boards from other bands and heard all the speculation, rumour and he said she said without anyone in the know ever clearing the air. There is a little red phone sitting on John Paul Jones keyboard in the footage from MSG that is found in Led Zeppelins The Song Remains the Same and I've seen people swear up and down this thing was used for different purposes from communicating with the sounddesk to ordering pizza and everyone has an inside source, what a breath of fresh air to come here and have Matt address some of these questions without jerking us around. I too think hardcore fans are exaggerating the demand for a Matthew Good Band reunion, no doubt I would see it if it happened, But would it be enough of a draw to significantly raise ticket sales from where they are now? Most of my friends are casual listeners who have no idea there ever was a "band" or that that "band" had broken up, they just assume Matt Good and Matthew Good Band are one and the same. One thing I've wondered is were any Matthew Good Band shows recorded in a quality that could be released? And is it something you might consider releasing in the future if they were?
  18. As a selfish Canadian I love the American tours as it gives me another chance to whip down to Seattle or Portland to see Matt a couple more times! But obviously the financial reality of it is important, spending a month or two away from family has got to be pretty taxing, and if your losing money to do it well at some point you gotta do whats best for you and not for fans. Its unfortunate for fans down in the south, but it is what it is. Regardless of what the future holds I'll still go to multiple shows within a 300 km radius, saw 6 shows last tour and 5 the tour before, can't wait for the next two in Seattle and Portland as I've never seen any of the acoustic shows before.
  19. 1. Running For Home 2. Strange Days 3. Suburbia 4. A Boy and His Machine Gun 5. Born to Kill 6. Load Me Up 7. Giant 8. Future is X-Rated 9. Jenni's Song 10. I miss New Wave 11. Hello Time Bomb 12. Failing the Rorschach Test 13. Going All the Way 14. Let's Get it On
  20. I was at the Victoria show, so sure I'd love to hear it! I wish Matt would post some of that video he took with the IPAD. It filmed the entire show from the side of the stage, Milos side, Matt picked it up during Zero Orchestra I think to film Tony and the crowd.
  21. Oh ok thanks, I went to both shows on this tour where Matt played Running for Home, But didn't have my recorder for either, I'm hoping someone got a recording of the 1st Vancouver show.
  22. I don't see the live recording of running for home in there, am I just missing it?
  23. Concerts are something I just love doing, so I don't mind breaking the bank on them, Matt Good is one of my favourite artists and his setlists vary which makes every show exciting, I mean, when he played "Running For Home" in Duncan, talk about surprised! I'm really excited for the acoustic tour as well, I'm hitting two of the shows in the States and hoping for a Canadian tour as well.
  24. Matt is talking about embarking on an acoustic tour of Canada later in 2012, maybe a live album is a possibility?
  25. The hometown crowd is usually a better crowd from what I've seen, I went to 6 shows on this tour and Vancouver was the only one where the crowd stood the entire set, the only one where a crowd started the KICKASS chant before the encore and other than Victoria seemed to have the more respectful crowd with very few people constantly yelling song requests. Some of the other shows I was at people were just talking loudly throughout the LOES material and barely seemed to maintain a pulse during any song other than Load Me Up. So its not hard for me to imagine why he might be tempted to play a bit more at home, from the 13 shows I've seen, the 4 Vancouver shows were the best.
