I like Bad Guy Win but still can't get into Decades. Men at the door and Bullets are great as is This is Night. Those are my go to songs as well as Something Like a Storm. Repeat those songs often.
-
If Matt were to switch up the sets pearl jam style it may benefit him to do a live road for each show and then sell them for maybe $10 a pop. Could be great for him and the fans.
-
i saw one of the sets of this. Disappointed they didn't do the whole album. They have 2 new unreleased songs they debuted though so at least there's that.
-
After a few days and plays I am still loving This Is Night. I really hope it is a major part of the next tour. This song back to back with Bullets would be a perfect close to any concert.
-
I will likely to a more comprehensive review later but after 4-5 listens (the pleasures of working from home) I came to the following conclusions This is Night is amazing. Probably my favorite song on the album and it would be an injustice for this song not to be a single at some point. Bullets in a Briefcase- Also a stunning portrait to end the album. I think this song could be a live staple for yrs to come.Perfect way to cap the album. Decades- I'm just not sold on this song. I am a fan of the Police and get the similarities but something about this song just doesn't scream Matt Good to me. Met at the Door- phenomenal. Loved the acoustic version from the winery recording and love the album version just as much. This song screams Matt Good to me. There the First Time- in my opinion one of the albums weaker tracks. Not a bad song by any means but with an album of 9 songs and 7 of them being amazing, this one kind of stands out to me. Bad Guys Win- Loved the song from the demo to the album version. Perfect song for the world we currently live in. Something Like a Storm- a musical masterpiece. One of those rare songs in that the music speaks louder than the vocals and lyrics. Matt nailed this song. In a world where everything is at our fingertips this is an album I am happy that I paid for. Matt deserves every single penny for the work he put in on this. I anxiously await the tour and even though he likely won't come to the states I await the recordings produced. Thank you Matt,Warne, and the band for producing a great album.

wasn't expecting him to close with that one. I did like the nearfantastica.com shout out though. MG knows what goes on in the Lounge stays in the Lounge
-
I'm hoping for "Ahead By A Century" as a Gord tribute.
-
I hear fans that listen to the MG album prior to release day are real assholes
-
Gord passed away last night quietly with his family and loved ones. Words cannot describe the impact Gord had on music and my life.

since Christmas is 3 months from today I wanted to announce that we will be doing the 12 days of goodness once again this yr. For those new to the bored it's 12 straight days of MG/MGB bootleg surprises. I already have a show from this summer that was taped and uncirculated that I am hoping to add to the 12 days and hopefully if we get a full tour we may have some new surprises. But for fans of old school MG/MGB just know that the 2nd annual 12 days will be a go!!

I mentioned this in another post but there is a version in youtube now. The vocals seem a bit low but I believe it to be intentional.

Setlist for Hospital Music Acoustic Tour performance in Regina, SK?
foats replied to RileyLewis's topic in Matthew Good
my apologies Arthur, I am 99% sure the show was not taped therefore only Matt or anyone who attended the show would know the set. I'm in a similar bind for a small acoustic show matt played at Club Cafe in Pittsburgh. Hopefully we both luck out. One thing you could do is search youtube for any vids from the show and if there are you could msg the person to see if they have/remember the set. -
it's actually on youtube now also. It's not a bad song. I honestly prefer Bad Guys Win. Would like to hear the song live. Men at the Door is another one I really loved at first listen. Decades I'm heads or tails on. I love the live version and I really think the studio version will grow on me in time.

What Videogame(s) Are You Playing Right Now?
foats replied to Moonlight_Graham's topic in Tech Section: A Hard Drive at Risk
Been playing the new life is strange, and outlast trinity. Sonic Mania a bit here and there for nostalgia sake. Fun stuff when I get the time. -
Solo Acoustic - 03.23.2006 - Edmonton, Meyer Horowitz Theatre
foats replied to patrickjnixon's topic in Matthew Good
I believe our very own Sean Gurskey taped this. I could be mistaken but also believe the full video of this show is on youtube/torrents. Once you get lounge access you will see a great deal of shows. Last yr we did the 12 days of Goodness and spent the 12 days of Christmas putting out shows for everyone to listen to. Will do it again this year if there is a demand for it. -
It's actually being shared right on the lounge

New Our Lady Peace

I like a lot of the stuff they came out with with the vault. I selfishly wish they had more releases but for what it was I liked it. I would have put "hurt yourself" "summertime sadness" "won't back down" "the fix" on a disc with the 4 tracks we have now and filled an album. Very curious to see what comes with part 2 and what we will hear on the Clumsy 20th anniversary tour. -
Hey guys, Has anyone heard the new OLP EP Somethingness Vol 1? So far I am really loving "Nice to Meet You". I honestly think it could be a huge radio single and it stays in your head for a long time. Drop me in the water is good but a poor single choice in my opinion. Curious to hear what others think.
-
working on a surprise for you kids in the lounge. Stay tuned ;)
-
I actually get a guns of carolina vibe from it. Definitely a slower song.
-
I'm not sure what the name of the new song Matt played was but "Street fighting love" would be a great title for it. I actually prefer it to Decades
-
I love Matt's music and hoped if he saw the post he would at least chuckle too. We live in crazy times so I like to lighten things up a bit. I despise the song with all that is in me (as well as born losers) but I love every other song Matt has put out. To me when Born Losers starts up it reminds me of two cowboys gearing up for a duel. I just can't get behind it.
-
I have a copy of the show. Once/if the taper gives the ok it will be on the lounge. I am under the impression it will be on there sooner than later. I will say the quality is incredible and you guys will love it. Matt went all out and you could tell he was having a blast.
-
I just got done listening to this show. The new songs sound great acoustic. Life still remains a favorite and would love to hear a full band live version on the next tour
-
From all accounts the show was amazing. Matt also had a whiteboard discussion about North Korea from what I hear.
