  1. God, I forgot about Rome. What a graet show that was too. One of the things that has been annoying to me lately about HBO is their quick hook of shows. I still cant believe they cancelled Rome & Deadwood so quickly
  2. What is HBO's best show of all time??? Over the years, they have put out some great shows, which is the best? Its almost impossible for me to pick a favorite between Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Deadwood, The Wire, Larry Sanders, Dream On, etc etc etc
  3. Not sure if there's any interest on this board about soccer Today the Barclay's English Premier League opens up play. I'm a Tottenham fan. Not a diehard, but more of the bandwagon variety, with a decision I made last year about this time due to a Bill Simmons column. I do get a kick out of how the logo of the team is a cock and a ball. Too funny. Though I've bought Fox Soccer Channel, so I can now actually watch a solid handful of games.
  4. A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini
  5. Grabbed the 1st 3 seasons of Ballykissangel. What a great show that was, although completely emotionally infuriating in how the closed out the Father Peter & Assumpta storyline. Still, the next to last episode of Season 3 ("The Reckioning") is one of the most well written TV shows I have ever come across. Just a tremendous show
  6. But we'd go dancing and he'd hold me tight he was air, he was water, he was breath, he was light And he would hold me there with all his might And it was bliss or an hour or so But then they called time to go And in the morning we were sober
  7. Elton John Live In Australia Collective Soul Home Pink Floyd Pulse Fish (Marillion ex lead singer) - Return To Childhood The Pogues Live at the Brixton Academy Brian Wilson Pet Sounds Live
  8. Joe Strummer - Redemption Song And as a guilty pleasure, Susannah Hoffs & Matthew Sweet's versions of Velvet Underground's "Sunday Morning" and Arhur Lee/Love's "Alone Again Or". Come to think of it, I like almost every version of that song. I also have it by The Damned
  9. Elton John - The Billy Elliot Demos Crowded House - Time On Earth
  10. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer site and newsletter has the best coverage of this terrible story. he had insight and info that no one else reported
  11. Sausage and eggs!!
  12. I love that Tori Amos album. me & a friend of mine sat in the front row for her show ehen she was just starting out (Little Earthquakes has JUST been released) and she had a skirt on and those see thru panties, and she sits all funny at the piano, so needless to say we were pretty distracted by her.
  13. Elisabeth Shue is one of the hottest women ever. She's what my friend calls "deceptively hot"...you dont realize how hot she is. She gets better with age
  14. I really like Moon Over Marin. I love the slow lazy feel of it
  15. Figures. Hopefully its on a weekend so I can try and scrounge up a friend or two for a road trip
  16. That U2 video for 'Window In The Skies" or whatever that song was called was pretty damned clever I thought
  17. Not sure if he's been mentioned by Lyle Lovett is pretty horrifying. What was Julia Roberts on?
  18. Awesome! I'm really hoping for some US dates close to or in Philadelphia!
  19. Tough choice, but I went with the closing track.
  20. Even though its disposable 80s pop, I thought Crowded House was pretty good for the Australia finale. It was also nice for me to see the former Cat Stevens back on stage again in Germany. The US running order was screwy - since it was in NJ, Bon jovi should have been the headliner, NOT The Police. the crowd was crazy for Bon Jovi during their set
  21. I'd add : All Things Must Pass - George Harrison
  22. Mine look fine as well.
  23. I once took a girl to see "Leaving Las vegas" on our first date..Not exactly the smartest of choices, especially consiering the subject matter and Elisabeth Shue's language in it
  24. Not sure if anyone mentioned this one or not..>Its from Elton's John's "The Captain & The Kid" album and the song is a great tribute to New York City called "I Wouldn't Have You Any Other Way". In particular, I LOVE this verse - it has some terrific imagery : "Oh the subway rumbled underneath Italian lights where Joey Gallo died And the man at the door down at 54 is letting only the pretty inside"
