now THAT would be nice!

Holy Cow was his catchphrase while announcing Yankees games. He is the baseball announcer talking in Meatloaf's "Paradise By The Dashboard Light".....he says it there ("Safe at third. Holy Cow! Stolen Base!") he also used to do commercials years ago for the Money Store (Hi! !I'm Phil Rizzuto for The Money Store!")

WLRRR doesnt seem to be held favorably by some here.....I kind of enjoy that album

August 15 is a pretty historical day musically. In 1965 on this day, The Beatles played their famous concert at Shea Stadium. In 1969, it was the start of the Woodstock Music Festival

I am currently in the middle of Season 6 of The West Wing. I never watched this when it was on, but thanks to Netflix, I have been watching them in order. Season 1 thru 5 are just top notch TV....Season 6 its finally starting to slip a little - CJ Cregg being named Chief Of Staff is definitely one of those "ugh" jump-the-shark type moments for me, but I am anticipating a nice rebound for the final season

Band Of Brothers, the best thing HBO has ever done
-
Hoosiers. I'm about as far as a basketball fan as you can get, but this is just perfect to me
-
I love the demo/early track called "Break In The Rhythm". I've always been pretty found of that one, Umbrellaless, Heather's Like Sunday and a few others whose names escape me off the top of my head

It appears the covers will fall!

A bendable screen!! Christ, what will they think of next?

Soft Parade is awesome. My favorite track on there is Wishful, Sinful -
I dont like Every Name Is My Name much either. As a matter of fact that just came on my ipod shuffle and I still had that "ehhhhh" feeling towards it

Holy Cow! Phil Ruzzuto died this morning

Wow - me loves Song For The Girl and IAWCC. I think American fans dont get as sick of the songs as the Canadian fans do since he isnt played at ALL here in the US
-
Most of that album is killer. Even my friends (who have no idea who he is) love some of the songs on that album

Why exactly are there no official live DVDs of either a solo show or a Matthew Good Band tour? Even the lowest level schmoes nowadays have all kinds of DVDS out. There has to be some sort of demand for this type of stuff. He's had a few #1 albums, some top 10's,etc. Kinda makes no sense to me. I will never understand record company logic sometimes

God, Man Of Action is such an awesome song.....Audio of Being is such a terrific album. Truffle Pigs, Carmelina, I, The Throw Away, Advertising On Police Cars, Tripoli....what an album that is

Its ludicrous to think that every single solitary song is great. One song I was never able to stand coincidentally happens to be on one of my favorite albums ever - I simply cannot stand 21st Century Living. Anyone else?
-
I just realized that at the beginning of the song, that guitar riff sounds alot like a riff in "Wont Get Fooled Again" by The Who. is this meant to be a subtle tribute or one of those "just happens to sound like it" moments?

Since I'm pretty new around here, I'm not sure if anyone has ever had a topic like this, but I'll give it a go anyway. When you are a big fan of an artist, obviously one of the most exciting times is when a new album comes out. In regards to MG, have you ever been completely blown away by a song the first time you heard it? I was that way with While We Were Hunting Rabbits. The entire arrangement of that song, I was just knocked out. Actually, I was knocked out by much of the Avalanche album, which I played to death (and still play frequently...current favorite song of the week on that is "Bright End Of Nowhere") Anyone else?

I love Moon Over Marin on this album. I've never heard a single song by The Dead Kennedys, to be honest
