  1. Hands down the funniest show I've ever seen. I've introduced SO many people to it. Season one is available on DVD for those curious...
  2. It's a really good movie. Very honest. Very well done.
  3. I'm sure there would have been a substantial fee for postponing...probably wasn't worth it.
  4. I bought 2. We'll see if it goes through. I've had pricing errors from Amazon go through, and I've had them cancelled. Worth a shot.
  5. Well, right after the show I walked around for a while (still on the high from the backstage meet with MG), got a drink and made the long 1-block walk back to the hotel. Sunday, the drive home was REALLY fast...made it back in record time. No traffic at all except for this one pick-up truck in Vermont...driving right down the middle of the 2-lane highway so I couldn't pass. Then I started laughing when I realized what I was looking at in his cab...a deer covered in a tarp...its legs were hanging out over the side, and every time he hit a bump, the deer 'waved' at me. I was laughing for about 15 miles until he finally pulled over. I sent you a PM by the way...you have to give me all of your e-mail addresses!
  6. How was your drive back to the states?
  7. Been spending a lot of time here... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.html
  8. I think I've proven THAT'S wrong about a million times since 2000. I don't even need to be looking at him to call him an idiot. Bush is NOT smart. Sorry. He sunk HOW many companies into the ground? Got caught fucking up HOW many times? If he didn't have the family connections, he'd be in prison right now. You can have all your invalid, misguided, Jesus-loving reasons for liking the fucker, but don't call him smart. You just insult those of us that ARE smart.
  9. I don't think you got a single thing right in any of that...
  10. It's going to be really hard driving BACK to the states after spending this weekend in Montreal. I'm already dreading having to say "yes" when they ask me if I'm an American citizen at the border.
  11. That's incredible! I too hope Montreal is done in the same fashion!
  12. That's not how Torrent works. It's actually the opposite...not enough people leaving it open after they download it.
  13. I got my ticket last week! I'm heading up from Boston Friday morning (11/5). I'd be up for a meetup!
  14. Well I was REALLY bummed that I thought I was going to miss the Montreal show...but I cancelled my scheduled trip, and now I'm driving up Friday to see the Tea Party, and Saturday I'll FINALLY be able to see MG (which will absolutely make up for the wasted drive back in June...when I learned the meaning of the french word "REPORTE") Just curious if anyone else from the area is going up for the show...last time up, we met a few.
  15. I've got my poster from the Metropolis show (last year) in Montreal. I had to con the girl behind the counter at Spectrum for it, but I got it... Someday maybe I'll get it signed...like maybe 11/6!
  16. I heard it too! I had to replay it on Tivo 3 times because I thought I was hearing things!
  17. I don't know about THAT. I'm confused at why he chose those particular cities...no offense to Detroit and Buffalo, but those are middle-of-nowhere cities, and would not have had decent turnouts from US fans (whether Canadians would have traveled to the Buffalo show is another matter). Why MG didn't book a show in NYC, Boston, Chicago or LA is beyond me. NYC would be the most obvious choice, and those other cities have GREAT music scenes. I wrote MG a letter suggesting he talk to the MoveOn.org folks about sponsoring a visa. He would have fit very well with the Vote For Change tour beginning in a couple weeks. But seeing as his solo material is right up MoveOn's alley, I bet they could help in some fashion, whether it's helping to promote him down here or even just picking up the visa charges.
  18. Sonofabitch. I am soooooo pissed right now. First - he never reschedules the Montreal show he canceled. That I drove 7 hours to see. thanks. Now he bails on the US shows that already went on sale. thanks again.
  19. Hey - I tried that a couple times...in 2003 it worked great! In June of 2004, not so great... ;) Do you know how long it takes by train from Boston? I'm trying to figure out if plane, car or train is best. I doubt he's coming to Providence or Boston again...
  20. I'm thinking of driving up from Boston... This is too cool to pass us. Of course, driving to Buffalo in November....maybe I should fly.
  21. The Director's Cut has 20 minutes put back into the film. The music is also different. The director had to drop some songs from the original film festival release due to permissions, but has since resolved those problems. The DC will be out on DVD later this year. Boston is getting this tomorrow. I'm seeing it Saturday.
  22. I was very underwhelmed by this one. Big fan of Shyamalan, but this was a letdown after his previous movies. Had this been his first film, I'd have been impressed, but knowing that he's capable of better prevented me from really liking this.
  23. Survivor is one of the best books, hands down, written in the past 50 years. I think it's nearly perfect. I just re-read it after finding out that the whole book is a statement on the US education system. I can't believe I missed that. I just bought his new collection, 'Stranger Than Fiction'. Can't wait to get to it. It's on deck along with the new Hunter Thompson collection, 'Hey, Rube!'
  24. I think they have one. Don't know if it's intentional!
  25. really misleading thread title
