There is a difference between being good at your instrument, and actually being a good musician. Music should display a range of emotions, and I dont feel Kirk Hammet does that.

If you are into The Dears, i suggest later Blur, such as their self titled album, and 13. another Montreal band called The Arcade Fire The Smiths Joy Division The Afghan Whigs (reccomended by Matthew Good himself) as for At The Drive In, similar bands include The Mars Volta (The singer and guitar players from ATDI's current band) Refused The Blood Brothers

At The Drive In split up Sparta and The Mars Volta is the end result. I wish At The Drive In would get back together.
